The hotel is nice and clean though it is a bit tight in the rooms for a suite hotel. We were given a handicapped room which was not a problem for us but I wondered how a truly handicapped person would manage to get into a bed with such little room on the sides to spare. The room was updated very nicely, it was clean and the bed was comfortable so our personal experience was fine.
We were a bit confused by our parking instructions. There were some spots on the side of the building that were half unpaved. We weren't sure if we could or should use them considering the airport parking facility that was adjacent. We went to the garage but we didn't know if we had to pay extra for it so we had to go back inside the hotel for clarification. The garage was free for hotel guests and the room key card opened the gate. In the end there was no problem but it was a bit more confusing that it needed to be.
The warm breakfast was sufficient though it seemed below average in quality compared to other Homewood Suites. The hotel is a good place to stay near the airport. We were surprised that it ranked in the top 10 of all hotels in Tampa but I think a very good rating is warranted.
