Like others I am more inclined to write if things have not been good during a particular stay but on this occasion I would very much wish to acknowledge the tremendous help that we had from one of the staff at this hotel.
I am a UK based retired police officer and my wife, British Airways.
Having to travel the 1000 mile+ journey by road from Houston to Tampa and after experiencing engine cut-outs which required two major cool down periods before we were able to continue our journey, we arrived at the hotel, parked the car and not surprisingly went straight to bed. The following day, we found that our car had a flat battery, I assume a symptom of the previous faults on route.
I immediately called the hire company (Avis) who amazingly demanded $50 call out fee from Tampa Airport which was approximately 2miles from our hotel for a fault on their vehicle.
Learning of our plight, the hotel engineer a young man called Jose offered to help. After some difficulty he had to abandon his attempts using the hotel equipment. Our only option was to get to the shopping arcade and try to purchase leads in an attempt to get the car mobile. We were aware that the hotel could understandably help no further, but hey! Jose was not giving up. Quite surprisingly he managed to borrow leads locally and searched for us within the hotel tp prevent us going off to the shopping mall. Using his own car he then got us going.
Not much really you may think, but this young man clearly went that extra mile to ensure one of his guests were not left stranded when the easy option would have been to forget us. Overall, the staff were most polite and helpful and I would recommend this hotel to all.

It seems as though you overall stay was pleasant and the highlight was definitely the extra mile service which you received from Jose.We are all very proud of Jose, who has been with us since opening day in '09, and grateful that he is a part of our team. Jose has been recognized by the entire Management team as well as his co-workers for his efforts. Thank you again for your follow up.
