We had a much better experience than we expected after seeing all the negative reviews, but we booked the hotel on faith since we've always enjoyed La Quinta hotels and we wanted to save the parking money for Busch Gardens. (It's a 1.2 mile walk across 1 traffic light. Really not bad.) The outside of the building looks great, the front lobby is very nice, and the area around it isn't creepy in my opinion like some people reviewed. Our room turned out to be very clean and comfortable. When we were came in, it smelled a little stale, but we'd brought some febreeze based on the reviews and that was the end of that problem. I love La Quinta beds better than any hotel, and this was no exception - very soft and cozy. I LOVE that this is a pet friendly - without fee - hotel. We have an amazing and well behaved 8 lb pomeranian who travels everywhere with us, so no pet fee is always a treat! The pool looked awesome and clean, though we didn't get in. The breakfast was okay - nothing special, but the waffles looked good. The 2nd day at Busch Gardens we got awesome $3 muffins from the starbucks dessert shop near the entrance anyways. My ONLY complaint about this hotel isn't the hotel's fault - it's the loud guests. We had a room on the ground floor right in front of the pool, and there were people talking, shouting and running until midnight. We didn't hear through the walls or ceiling, but for some reason you can hear EVERYTHING going on outside. Nothing we could do about it or the hotel. SO... my suggestion for getting a good night's sleep would be to get a room on the highest floor or maybe the other side of the building than the pool. Otherwise, I really enjoyed our 3 night stay, and I would recommend this hotel if you're going to Busch Gardens, and we would stay again.
