Getting to the hotel was a bit of a hassle, there are roadworks currently taking place on the lanes that feed from the interstate towards the property ( a mile or so away) but once we worked out what to do, all was fine.
On checking in, we were assigned a room at the back of the hotel and my wife asked to be re-assigned to something closer to the water. The reception staff sorted this out happily and quickly and we found them to be very helpful throughout our 4 night stay.
I note another reviewer had problems with noise coming from under or just outside the room and we experienced this too, but again, just a quick call to reception and whatever caused the noise was switched off moments later.
The hotel charges for wifi Internet access which I found to be a bit slow and tricky to get working. Again, I mentioned this to the front desk manager and he immediately gave me an access code which resolved the connection problem and waived the charge. I can't fault the staff at all really.
Our new room did smell a little musty on arrival but soon aired out. The room itself was very spacious with a generous living area, huge bed, bathroom and dressing area and a fully equipped (but dated) kitchen. The rooms are not inside a hotel building but located surrounding the main reception and the front doors are accessible by passers by. My wife found this a little disconcerting but the doors were solid and secure and this didn't bother me particularly.
There is little to do in the immediate vicinity but the hotel is convenient for Tampa and the Airport. St Petersburg and St Pete's beach are a short 30 minute drive away, and the main roads to many other attractions are minutes from your door.
If you find yourself back at the hotel on a night I can recommend Bahama Breeze which is a minutes walk away. There are other options and Pizza places etc will deliver quickly. We paid around £65 / $130 (booked through Otel) which I felt represented good value and I can recommend the hotel at that rate.
