“Good stuff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2012

We chose this hotel out of room saver and they honored the coupon. The room was gorgeuos the bed awesome, great bathroom, (not enough towels) flat screen tv. amazing pool, great breakfast.
Clean large, rooms & ac perfect. Check in was ok ,however was charged twice, but she told me that the second time the card was charged she reversed it. (i have not verified this as of yet, it takes time for charges to post to credit card). I did see a bug in the bathroom on the door I grabbed a tissue and squished it and could hear a crunch and it was a light color, now, there was no bugs anywhere else, (and I looked) and my husband said it could have come from outside on someones clothes, it is Florida.
Check out ok, however, we asked for a short late check out (11:30am) and was told no as they had a full house, however, there were hardly any cars outslde, I did tell them that my husband just got up, i had the room tidied and was all packed, he just had to shower , (there was a very nice woman in shouskeeping staff) I took bags outsde to car and had to organize outside. Sitting on the ground which i did not mind, but not great for business, it just does not look good.

Room Tip: There are more than one building, it is a hotel motel, in a way, that is there is a main building, w...

We stayed here the weekend of New Years Eve, and we didn't really have much to complain about. It sort of feels like it's not in the best neighborhood, and the TVs in the rooms need updating, but if you're looking for a place to stay close to Busch Gardens, this would suffice. You can literally walk right across the street to the park, saving the $14 parking fee. Just an FYI also - finding food delivery at night is sort of a mission; the Vocelli menus they have on the nightstand need to be updated because the Tampa restaurant has closed.

Stayed there with family to visit Busche Gardens. It's within close walking distance to the theme park. However, the hotel is very old. There is a wet moldy smell to it. The hotel was quite empty when we were there. I paid about sixty dollars per night plus taxes. So I guess you get what you paid for.
Keep looking!

This hotels has it´s pros and cons:

Pros:
* Newly renovated rooms (still undergoing renovations in the backside of the hotel, You don´t notice anything of that).
* Price unbeatable 50 $ inkl. breakfast (bacon, eggs, bagels, toast ect)
* Within walking distance to Busch Gardens (5-10 Minutes to the gate) - no parking fees
* very, very friendly staff
* quite, good aircondition (you get the remote control for it at the check in ?!)
* free internet in room, speed is good (note: no businesscenter)
* new good beds (mattrasses)

Cons:
* the renovation left traces: dirty appearing doors (looked dusty, but is not cleanable, black footprints on it), paint on microwave, bathroom floor, lightswitches (covers new, switch is old), the
cold and hot button on the faucet was switched and so on.
* had two rooms - in one the clock was missing, in the other one the remote control (and the picture jiggled)and the hair dryer was loose and out of order
* the electronic safe was always closed (extra costs?)
* one shower head was wistling, not much water
* although the room was mostly clean, there had been stains on the carpet and greasy (old!) remains on the clockradio
* the rooms at the frontside are very loud (street traffic, sliding doors vibrate from the traffic)

Also the re-use of the padded envelopes for the room keys is a bit of strange ?!

All things considered it isn´t definitifly a bad choice, especially for the price, and we would stay there again.
But maybe they should controll the freshly renovated rooms, if the equipment is complete and working and have the renovation enterprise to work a bit more carefully with the remaining things (like doors, light switchs and so on :-)). Then I would rate it higher.

Room Tip: Try to get room more on the backside of the hotel (quiter)

We stayed here for one night after Busch Garden's Howl-o-Scream. The hotel wasn't amazing, but it was sufficient for a night's stay. It was clean enough, slight smell of mildew in the lobby but we were just there for the night. The best thing about the hotel is the location, it was literally across the street from the Busch Garden's parking lot, which saves you $13.00. The breakfast was fulfilling; it was continental, but included some eggs and bacon. Not a bad deal for the price.

Location is perfect when visiting busch gardens. Saved on parking. The hotel went thru major renovations and looks really nice compared to previous years. The new breakfast program is awesome. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Will continue staying at this hotel.
