“Big experience at Big Cat Rescue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

We really respected the idea of what BCR were trying to achieve with their facility and the importance of having visitors to support their funding, but of course you are never sure what to expect until your visit. We were not disappointed and had a wonderful experience and learnt a lot too - in many ways. It was important that these visits are by guided tours only, made by very knowledgable staff and keepers to ensure each visitor is given context to the situation each of the cats found themselves in before being rescued and to help us understand BCR's reason for being. But of course the draw was to see the cats themselves and what beauties and what stories each has to tell - they all looked happy and relaxed in their surroundings and many appeared pleased - or hungry enough! - to come and take a closer look as we toured with our guide. Superb - would certainly come again with family.

“Great experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit! We had lived in the Tampa Bay area for two and a half years and never knew it was there. We certainly will visit again. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and the facility was well equipped to house the cats. We were able to get up close to the cats and were lucky enough to see the majority of cats. I was not able to walk the grounds but they provide a golf cart that I could ride in with a guide and I was able to get out and take pictures as often as I wanted. All in all the experience is well worth the time and money.

“Disappointed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

We were disappointed with our visit. Especially after all of the high ratings and remarks that were listed. We only saw 5 different species of cat and our quide told us the same speech at least four times in the 1 1/2 hour tour. It was not worth the 3 1/2 hour round trip drive we made. The facility and enclosures were very clean and they did give out good information and history of the cats that we did see. I did not get any good pictures. I wonder if the private tour would of been better and worth the price??
