“Christmas Lights 2012”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

The decorated lights at the entrance of the park were beautiful.
Unfortunately, the rest of the park setup was very disappointing.
Most of the park was roped off; you could only go to a very minimal amount of areas.
For a cold, windy night in December, there was only ONE concession stand that sold hot coffee!
There were screaming kids everywhere - which is what Christmas is all about, however; there should be an ADULTS ONLY night so adults do not have to be hit with strollers or ran into by some hyperactive Mommy's darling every 30 feet.
I will not make the mistake of ever going to the Lowry Park Zoo Christmas Lights display again.
For the extortion-level amount of money we paid to get in, it was certainly not worth the drive.

“An Excellent Zoo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

Growing up in Tampa, I remember the original zoo with its sad cement and steel bar cages. 25 years ago, the current zoo opened and it continues to be a great zoo. Parking is free, annual membership is a bargain (a few visits a year pays for it). There is enough to do to fill an entire day for visitors and it is a great place to spend a few hours at a time for locals. Zoo schools for kids, summer evening programs, special events - there is always something new to do here.

“Little treasure in Tampa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

We had my little cousins and explored the zoo. So much fun and great views of the animals. Be sure to feed the giraffes, ride the camels and see the manatees. Great day out. May want to go when it isn't too hot.

“Good Children's Zoo”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Zoo seemed to be very child centric. Not as many animal exhibits as in other zoos, lots of birds. Zoo seemed to have seen better days, as landscaping and architecture was looking very shabby.
