“Great place to spend a few hours”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

Excellent place to spend a few hours. This is a late 19th century hotel in Tampa. It is a very interesting and beautiful place to spend a few hours. In downtown Tampa part of a college campus. After your done drive a mile and spend a few more hours in Ybor city.

“This Place has History”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

This Place has history. It's located in the University of Tampa. It is close to everything just outside of downtown. Free education. Nice day out.

“Their is nothing like this old place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

Really worth the detour to see this remarkable place. It is the main building of the University of Tampa and the administration seems to take pride in its preservation and appearance. Well worth the visit to walk the halls, check out the museum and its history.

“Beautiful, historic furnished hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013 via mobile

Hotel from the 1800s. Free parking. 10$ to get in, 7$ with a student ID. Free audio tour with purchase of ticket. Wasn't as big as I expected because the rest is portioned off and part of the college campus. Beautiful area and beautiful architecture

“What history!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

The old Tampa Bay Hotel was magnificent!! What an architectural and design marvel of it's day. The building is now part of Tampa University and the museum is housed in a portion of the first floor. With all of the historical items on display, it would be nice if there were more space to display them within. Some of the exhibits/rooms are so crowded its hard to view them and see all of the items contained within. Really enjoyed learning about Mr. Plant's contribution to the early railroad industry in the USA.
