“Cool Day, Fun Times”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

We headed to Florida expecting warm days and wound up being there during a cool front.

On our visit the day time high was in the 60s, plus being a Monday made for a light traffic day at Busch Gardens. One unexpected benefit to being cool was all the animals were very active....tigers, cheetahs, gorillas, etc....were just having a blast enjoying the cool weather which made it great for us on our side of the glass.

Our girls loved the roller coasters and animals, it was very interesting when the trainers gave their little speeches...we did not do much in the kids sections, but they seemed to have quite a bit for the younger ages.

The park was very clean and only opened from 9:30 to 6:00 the day we were there.

We purchased tickets online which gave us "for our purposes" two basic options...
1.$75.00 you get a one day ticket plus a second day you could use within seven days.
2. $85.00 for a one day ticket and all you can eat at participating restaurants.
We chose option 2 because we weren't coming back. The food was not all that bad and the all you can eat included all fountain drinks and water bottles that were sold in the restaurants. Be warned that this does not include any of the snack stands located around the park, but there were several restaurants to choose from and usually not too far away.

All said it was a great day at a great location....hope you enjoy as much as we did.

“A little 'tired' when compared to Disney”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

If you want to ride roller coasters and see some animals without leaving the Tampa Bay area, then Busch would work for you. Cheaper than the Disney parks, the overall facility is looking a little worn and not as clean as the Orlando parks are kept. We have lived in Tampa for 18 months and finally went to visit a couple of weeks ago. Nice for families, but probably will not be a return visit for us (empty nesters). The coasters were nice, great view (briefly) of the Tampa skyline from the top of the tallest ride and the lines for the rides the evening we were there was reasonable, less than an hour. Definitely take the chairlift over the animal area and get a view of what exists beyond the rides. We didn't try any of the food in the park, but it looked like a good selection and had potential to be more than just burgers and fries. Souvenirs are sold EVERYWHERE, a bit of a negative for me.

“Wonderful theme park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

I recently visited 5 theme parks in the Orlando area and definitely Busch Gardens was my favorite. Is a HUGE park! 2 days would have been way better, but I had a great time anyway. My favorite rides were Cheetah Hunt, Sheikra and the train.
It has an unbeatable combination of roller coasters and zoo. The best park to visit when you are in the Orlando-Tampa area.

“Great amusement park for all ages”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

My family enjoys season passes to this amusement park. The roller coasters of excellent with Montu, Sheikra and Cheetah being my favorite. Our grandchildren enjoy Elmo World which has a small roller coaster in addition to many child-friendly rides. There is also a huge play land and a water park for the youngsters. Busch Gardens also has a bird aviary, animal shows and live musical shows. The park also offers gluten-free foods. The park also has three "water" rides, two of which you will get wet/soaked. The park does have lockers for rental throughout the park so if you are going to enjoy the water rides, bring a change of clothes. The park does not allow bikinis so you must wear clothing over your swimsuit or just plan on changing. I could go on and on but...

“Fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

I absolutely LOVE Busch Gardens. This visit we booked to go on the Serengeti Safari trip on the back of a truck to feed the giraffes and I loved it. It was a very hot day but we saw loads of the animals and the giraffes were just fabulous. The rest of the park is great, loads to see and do and you can just sit and people watch when you get tired. We sat below the Sheikra ride where it goes through water and amused ourselves watching the people walking underneath it get soaked - hilarious! We ate at the Zambia Smokehouse - great ribs and chicken - and took 2 rides on the little railway which is a great way to see the park and all the animals. There is nothing about this park I don't like and make a point of going here whenever I am lucky enough to be in Florida. It beats any of the Disney parks hands down, including Animal Kingdom. Fantastic!
