“Great Hotel in a Great Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2011

We stayed at this hotel while in town for a funeral. I made the reservations on line thru priceline so the rates were great.
The front desk personnel were wonderful! They were cordial, polite, professional and friendly. They greeted us each time we came in the front door.
We had a king handicap accessible room and a 2 queen beds room. The first night we checked in to the king room. The second day the rest of our party arrived and we checked into the queen bed room we had reserved. When my children went to their room, they found it had a wet carpet musty smell. Upon reporting this to the front desk, they were immediately moved to another room, which happened to be the last room available, a king suite with a full kitchen. They provided a roll away so my son and daughter wouldn't have to share the king bed and they kept the room rate the same. The rollaway mattress was poor, but we had an inflatable twin mattress with us which my daughter used on the rollaway frame and said it worked fine. The rooms were spotless and had fantastic housekeeping service each day. The carpet was clean...we could walk on the floor with socks on and they remained clean. The king bed was extremely comfortable, even for my husband who has arthritis.
The breakfast was quite adequate. It would be nice if it remained open after 9am, as some mornings we wanted to sleep a little later. The highlight was the waffle maker and there was always a waiting line for it, maybe they should consider installing another one? There was eggs, bacon or sausage, yoguart, fresh fruit, cereal, milk, coffee, juice and of course waffles. The staff maintained the breakfast bar well and there was always plenty of food available.
The location was a little tricky to get into if you are west bound on Waters Ave. You have to go down and do a u turn to get to the entrance. I didn't have a problem with this. The general location was good for us as it was within 6 - 7 miles of the different locations we needed to go and wasn't near the airport or interstate (which we wanted to avoid).
We visit Tampa frequently and now have found a great hotel we can make reservations with and will return to this location when we are in the area again.
As an additional plus, there is a Walmart Super Center right behind the hotel, which was extremely convenient when we needed to get a few things.

Wonderful stay! We traveled with our toddler, nine month old and our dog. There was no charge for our pet, which was fantastic, most hotels in Tampa charge between 25 -100 dollars a night just for a pet. We stayed in the King suite with whirlpool, which is in the room with the bed. I thought there was another room, I've stayed in suites before and it was always two rooms, but it wasn't. Still a great stay. Very accessible to Bush Gardens and MOSI, not to mention loads of restaurants. There is a website that will deliver food from any restaurant, you just have to register, tampabaydelivered.com. Very clean hotel! Great staff. We had a cot in our room, which our toddler didn't sleep in, they didn't charge us.

We stayed in a King suite with a hot tub. It was a beautiful room, immacuately clean, with great amenities. The room had a very comfortable king bed with 5 pillows, a nice flat screen t.v., 2 telephones, a microwave and fridge, and marble countertops. The front desk was very friendly and helpful. The location is in the middle of Tampa, close to the airport and Busch Gardens but not a very safe area. The outdoor hot tub was not hot. The complimentary breakfast was the best we have ever had. It had omelletes, homemade waffles, Activia yogurt, toast, bagels, cereals, juices, sausages etc. Brand new and very well maintained property at a fair price. Our Hot tub King Suite was only $129 per night plus tax including breakfast.

unless you're planning on locking yourself in your room the whole time you're in tampa- do not stay here. we did not feel safe going out after dark in this part of town. brand new hotel, nice rooms- but the walls between the rooms were VERY thin and you could hear neighbors tvs. would never stay here again, simply because of the location.

I recently spent one night at this hotel. I arrived late into Tampa and was a bit disappointed that this hotel was not real close to the airport. That being said, the hotel is clean and comfortable. I awoke too late to partake in the free breakfast. My only other minor beef is that the rate I was quoted was lower than what I was charged. BW does say that the quoted rate is an "estimate". However, this is the first time I was ever charged more that what the rate was quoted at the time of booking. It's a nice a good modern property and a decent choice for your first or last night's stay in Tampa.

  • Liked — It was clean and quiet.
  • Disliked — Not as close to airport as I would have liked

We were visiting friends and family and spent a wonderful week at this hotel. The staff was wonderful asking if we needed anything all the time and making sure our stay at the hotel was going well. The hotel is new and very clean.

My husband just had hip replacement surgery and we needed a handicap accessible room and this was perfect and very convenient to the breakfast room, office center and the parking lot.

I would highly reccomend this hotel to anyone who is visiting people in Tampa especially the north Tampa area around Carrollwood Village.

It is not a resort, but feels very homey and comfortable.

  • Liked — Clean, Friendly and comfortable
  • Disliked — Just OK Breakfast
