“A decent place for a short stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2014

I really have nothing bad to say about this hotel. This hotel is good for a single night, but not for an extended stay. Room was decent, with 2 beds and a small shower. All in all not bad. Breakfast is in a small area, so be prepared to take food back to room, or wait for a table.

We stayed one night here. Our room was clean and quiet. The bed was good and we had a good night sleep. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. We did not visit the pool area. The person at the first desk was friendly. No problems here. I do not know why people do not like the place.

As a general rule I enjoy staying at La Quinta due to their pet policy and allowing me to bring my best friend along. This time I was traveling with family none of who had 4 legs :) Check in was easy and nice. Close to I-10 for traveling. Room doors open to the outside and odd how the doors were numbered. Took a little while to figure out where we were going and the best place to park. Entering the room all was ok. 2 beds, tv, little table all the furnishings you would expect. The bath area is a bit cramped without ventilation--I dont remember even a fan to help the air escape. We sat outside at a table by the pool for our pizza delivery. I liked how the pool was inbetween the rooms--more private than most. The breakfast area was a bit cramped and difficult to find a table. Also no one was available to clean the tables so had to clean someone elses mess before sitting. Something that could be worked on. But the breakfast was a nice contenental. Overall great stay for an overnight traveler.

Room Tip: Ask for an inside room for more privacy--meaning on the inside halls close to the pool.

Run away from this hotel, don't walk. This hotel is dirty, uncomfortable, and not worth your money. The ice machine had no ice, the carpet was filthy, the shower had mold growing in it, and the bathroom had no hot water. It is located in a bad part of town. Additionally, the staff could not care less that you arrived. I felt like I was pestering them for checking in.

second time I've stayed here. Great location, quiet, good place to walk the dogs. Close to I-10 and Cracker Barrel restaurant. Breakfast could be improved. It is the minimum required, we skipped it and went to cracker barrel.

The nightly rate at this hotel is very nice! It is a place to just spend the night and nothing else. The breakfast was the most limited of any La Q I have ever stayed at and the rooms were below standard. But, all in all, this hotel served it's purpose for me and for the price, I was happy.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 106 which was a great location! Very close to the front office and very quiet. I a...
