We just stayed at the La Quinta this past weekend for FSU parent's weekend. While I didn't expect a palace I was disgusted with our stay. I told the front desk clerk I had allergies and asthma, so please pick a room accordingly. I was sent to the 5th floor. The key she gave us didn't work and we had to wait outside until another one was brought. When we opened the door the smell of mold was very strong. I told the guy there was no way I could stay in there. He said he could bring a machine to fix the smell. Obviously they have had this problem before. We requested and got another room. The smell was less bad. On a positive note the sheets seemed clean. I woke up having severe allergies both mornings. Before checkout I pulled out my iphone charger. It caused a pop, burned out the charger and burned out the electricity in the room. This hotel needs to be torn done before someone gets hurt. The front desk clerk gave me a charger from lost and found. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Also, the idea that they can charge over $200, because it is Parent's weekend is a travesty.

Always clean with a good staff. Pet friendly, only a few blocks from the dog park. Close to the capital and campus. Great value for the hotel. Free parking. Pool. No laundry. Older La Quinta but is undergoing renovations and updating. Restaurants and shopping near by.

The first room I stayed in I went to get into the bed and there were clumps of black hair in the bed and under the sheets gross then upon further inspection there were little black bugs crawling by the pillows I got out of there was moved to another room but guess what no working phone I had my cell phone but still would have liked a phone it was cleaner but still had an odor I kept my shoes on the dog walk area was a joke it smelled so bad I took my dog down the street although no where to walk it was also very noisy with people outside their rooms hanging on the balcony talking and drinking and smoking very loud beware check your room carefully
