Stopped in Tallahassee at the Cracker Barrel. Had been driving several hours and just wanted to chill and relax for a little while. I was craving some of the friendly service and atmosphere usually found in Cracker Barrel. We arrived about 3:30, hungry, for a late lunch. The waiter ushers us to our table and hands us the menu. We gave him our drink orders and he asked us what we wanted to order off the menu. We'd just gotten the menu! I replied we weren't ready yet. He said that's o.k., some people come in and already know what they want to order. I politely replied that this wasn't the case, that we wanted to relax and enjoy a good meal. He came back 3 minutes later. You ready yet? Well. Sure. We ordered. While waiting, I noted everyone else around us are getting corn muffins or biscuits. I didn't ask for any and sure didn't receive any either, but they would've been nice. The meal came, pretty mediocre. Then he brought our ticket. Wasn't he supposed to ask me if I wanted some cobbler? Come on? Boy they were off yesterday. So, we paid the bill and left. Maybe it was just my waiter and he was having a bad day. Who knows. I ordered the fresh vegetable with chicken salad. It was o.k. My daughter ordered the fried chicken - which she thought was very good :)
When we left, I was wishing I'd held out for the Ruby Tuesday in Marianna. Next time, I'll pass this one by.
