Had a lovely time. Very good displays. Not to crowded. Was good for a family day out. Everyone working was pleasant.

“Takes you back in time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2012

Impressive capital building now housing a museum. Visit the senate and house chambers and the former governor's offices. They are furnished as they were at the turn of 1900's. I am not from the area but found it a very worthwhile and interesting visit.

“Exceptionally rude staff spoiled our visit”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2012

Too bad, too, because the building is beautiful and beautifully restored. And some of the exhibits seemed fairly interesting.

Not a place you would need to spend a lot of time in, anyway, but I was ready to leave within seconds of arriving due to the carping from one of the staff members. Only stayed out of politeness to my hosts.

Too bad the staff have not been trained to be polite.

“Magnificent historic building. Don't miss it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2011

The old Florida capitol building, originally built in 1845 and enlarged over the years, has been restored to its 1902 configuration when it housed the Governor, Supreme Court, House and Senate. Extremely well restored and beautifully maintained. Museum/politician history displays are of interest to both a Florida native and out of state visitor. Two blocks from parking garage (but an uphill walk!) and adjacent to "new" capitol building. Free admission. Well worth seeing. Elevator inside building to get to second floor.
