Stayed here one night on business and my room was clean and modern. My price was fair so I will return. Looks like they recently remodeled and changed their name in the process. Sonny's BBQ down the road, score!

We were in a lovely, upgraded twin room, set back quietly off the road. Comfortable beds and large bathroom with modern vanity units. We were extremely comfortable and happy. All the staff members were polite and friendly. The owner is a lovely lady who couldn't do enough for us. We are from England and she gave us loads of helpful advice.
Breakfast was great!
This is an older motel done over as an Econo Lodge. You will be pleasantly surprised. Very clean, great beds, at least in the king sized room. Frig and micro but no coffee in the room. The bathroom is the smallest I've ever seen in a hotel but updated and nice. The people are very helpful. Breakfast is all prepackaged but a neat and clean area. Will go back again.
After being referred to a different well known chain motel and looking up the reviews on TripAdvisor I decided to go with the Econo Lodge. I stayed here July 22-25, 2011 and it was perfect my rates were terrific. The room was newer, clean, comfortable and had all I needed comfortable bed, bath, mini refrig and microwave. Mrs Desai was the manager on duty and she was helpful and pleasant. All the staff acknowledged customers as they passed by. The pool was clean as was the property. The breakfast was decent, nothing fancy, mini boxed cereals, individually wrapped bagels, coffee, tea, hard boiled eggs, juice toast all I needed. I would highly recommend staying here!
I picked this motel for my recent stay in Starke because of the TripAdvisor reviews. I stayed several days and for the first few I had the place to myself. It was nice and quiet. Even when other guests started coming in, it was still quiet. Every staff member I encountered from the front desk to the maintenance man was as friendly as could be. The lady at the front desk noted that I prefer decaf coffee so she made some every morning just so I could have some. The lady who came in and cleaned the room took the time to arrange my children's stuffed animals on the newly made bed. The room was spacious and everything had been updated. The breakfast was more than just a doughnut or muffin and the motel was conveniently located to Starke, Lake Butler, and just an hour or so from St. Augustine. I also traveled to Gainesville in less than an hour and Jacksonville in a little over an hour. The pool was very pleasant and we enjoyed spending time in it. The only thing I noticed that would be a negative was the tile floor in the room. When you get out of the shower with moist feet, you leave behind black footprints. It really needed a good scrubbing and we tried to stay off of it with bare feet. I did enjoy my stay here and would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others in spite of the floor issue.
