“Good for the Money & Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2010

Recommend this hotel to anyone who's on a budget or don't intend to rent a car.
Even though this hotel is not the cleaniest or fanciest of all, but its price-quality ratio is pretty high. I'll give 3 stars to the lounge & pool area, but 1.5~2 stars to the room. However, if you just want a room for stay, it will totally meet your need - TV, hot water, OK bed, OK free breakfast, etc. It even has a computer if you don't wanna bring your laptop. The best part is the location & free airport shuttle. If you want the shuttle service, don't email them, call them. I waited for about half an hour (a reasonable wait time for me)because the drive was dropping someone else to the port, and the van left @8am sharp when I left. Note: it only offers shuttle service from 8am to 9pm. Location is really good - an open mall & dining area that closes @11pm about 10 min walk, rail station 5 min walk, and I feel the area is kinda safe & quiet.

This hotel was the nastiest, most disgusting, and dirty place, I ever stayed it. My lungs clogged up so badly, because of the mold. You couldn't open any windows and the personnel at the hotel were very unfriendly. This place needs to be put out of business immediately, since it could create serious harm to your health.

I booked this hotel online and then tried contacting them first through email to get some info on the airport shuttle. After 3 tries and no reply after 4 days I decided to call........GUESS WHAT...no answer!! This was warning enough for me, I CANCELLED!

The problem with hotels these days is that you may not make a reservation without paying first, so we are obligated to pay without first seeing the service provided. I stayed in 3 hotels just this February, and I am a year traveler and I have never yet made a complaint about a hotel, never made a charge back on any hotel, but this one hotel broke all the best intent.
1) the room and the entire hotel was and is inhabitable, the bad smell of moisture or mildew due to the humidity in the hotel and rooms, floor were wet and towels were humid, LIKE WET, SMELLY, AND BADLY WASHED IN LAUNDRY
2) we asked to be moved to another room, which we were, but which the smell was not so intense, but the humidity and moisture was still there. towels were smelly and humid.
3) when uncovering the bed sheets we found a woman underwear with a Tampax stuck to it, disgusting we had to have the bed sheets changed,
4) after the bed sheets were changed we went out for dinner, on the way back to the room we found that a pair of Oakley sunglasses were missing from the room
5) that night and the next night the temperature dropped in Miami to the 40's but there was no heat in the room and we asked to be changed to another room, they would not a provide a heated room, the clerk said that the hotel did not have heat, and blamed the state of Florida stating that in Florida there is a law that prohibits heated rooms, this is a big lie, I was just in a hotel in Orlando Florida with heat
6) hotel towels were not in shape to use, we had to buy a set of new towels to use, all we did was use the bathrooms to shower once when we got there and once when we left the room
7) we moved out during the night because it was impossible to sleep in the cold almost freezing rooms, ended up staying in a friend’s house both nights.
8) we paid for Internet service an extra fee and there was no internet service in the rooms.
9) TV did not function, did not have a remote control,
10) room safe lock was not working and we were charged a fee
11) continental breakfast was limited to one set of toast, one small orange juice, unlimited coffee, not good but its OK, breakfast is not what makes a hotel good or bad.

Okay Folks! Here’s the scoop .. if you want a hotel like the Hyatt ..then go to the "Hyatt"! We needed a clean place to sleep and leave our car in a safe location while we went on a cruise out of the Port of Miami and we found it at the Best Miami Hotel.
We were met in the open foyer at the check-in desk by William, a very pleasant and knowledgeable gentleman who took care of us in grand style. Upon our early arrival he accommodated us with a "no-charge" early check-in. For a small daily fee we able to leave the car parked while we were on our five (5) day cruise in an attached high rise parking garage adjacent to our third floor accommodations.
Because I had already read most of the reviews I was pleasantly surprised that many of them were wrong in most of the areas and some were right on target. However, we found the hotel to be well worth the bargain price. The continental breakfast was only coffee, juice and toast .. but free coffee is still free coffee! The attached restaurant offered a breakfast special for $7.95 .. and hack add that into the cost of your stay at the Best Miami Hotel and you still are $$ under any other area hotel!!!
As reviewed, the courtyard area to the beautiful pool was very nice and had an open air bar run by the restaurant which added a special touch.
In closing let’s get real .. there were some shuttle issues – as Floridians we drove to Miami but our friends were being picked up at the airport and they did have to wait a very long time before they boarded the shuttle. The next day we were shuttled a half hour later then we were told, on a free shuttle by the way, to the ship in plenty of time for boarding. We made a call to William when we arrived back in port from our cruise and the shuttle was sent to pick us up in a very short time and brought us back to the Best Miami Hotel, again at no charge!!!
Dollar for dollar you get what you pay for but we do feel we got the best value and the few bumps we encountered were so minimal. So, William book me in for August … we are going on a cruise and taking our grandchildren this time. See you at the Best Miami Hotel .. You really can’t go wrong.

Unfortunately this place was not the experience I wanted. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. The price was okay and you definitely get what you paid for. The beds were broken, the rooms were cold as ice and smelt like mildew, the ceilings were leaking water, which in turn ended up on the floor of the hallway and in the bathroom. Their continental breakfast consisted of a piece of toast, a small (size of a shot glass) orange juice and/or coffee. I was quite surprise on the attitudes we received when we brought these issues to the front desk. A definitely "I don't care and you could have stayed somewhere else attitude". Their shuttle service had to be scheduled (from 8am-9pm) in advance, which we confirmed several times with the front desk, who stated "No, it is available until 9PM". The shuttle only transported to three locations (airport, port of Miami & the shopping center across the street). The only good thing about the hotel in my opinion was the front lobby.
