On the date of June 30, 2012 after a series of unfortunate events, my group of seven females and I, reluctantly checked into the Best Miami Hotel. When we initially arrived after traveling from Maryland which ended up bein close to a 20 hour drive, the hotel could not find our reservations. Although, I had all of my comfirmation emails and receipts showing the specific reservation; the clerk at the desk refused to look at them and I was told that does not matter. After waiting about thirty minutes we were informed of an eight dollar a night parking fee for this low quality hotel along with a two-dollar a night charge for an electric safe in each room which we had no intentions on using. There is no other parking options near the location and I did not appreciate having to pay for parking as a guest at this hotel. Once we received our keys and entered the rooms we noted the obvious slope in the beds as if the beds had been 10 years old. We had to request to stay in a different room but upon viewing different options we noticed that all of the other rooms were the same or worse than the room we were already assigned. I shared a room with three other females and each day we woke up with one washcloth and one towel and had to go to the front desk and request them for our six day vacation. The electric door keys were demagnatized for some unknown reason multiple times a day. After longs day on the beach we had to wait outside the door for someone to get the key programmed again. The day after we checked in we noticed at $50 charge on the credit cards swiped for the two rooms. We went to the front desk to ask wha the charge was for and after 20 minutes of pondering we were informed that it was an incident protection pending charge that we were not informed of when we checked in. At this point we have been inconvienced in the amount of $100 with what I feel are miscellaneuos charges. The staff was extremely unhelpful and unwilling to accommodate with any of our request without an argument. My friends and I did not feel appreciated as paying guest in this hotel. We had planned to leave July 3rd, but decidede to stay one more night for the 4th of July festivities. We booked another night on Hotels.com which we had used to reserve the rooms the first time. When we went to notify the staff that we were going to stay another night. They told us that we had to check out and check back in, in addition to having another $25 pending charge on our acconts, and of course the $8 for parking and $2 for the safe. If the staff seemed a little more concerned with there guest rather than making a quick dollar, and made some major renovations this hotel would have great potential to be a nice stay. The location is quiet and there are nice malls and eateries in the area.
