This Canton restaruant is one of a chain of three Canton Restaurants in Miami. They have been in business for about 25 years- but based on my experience this evening, I don't see how. The pros: the service and the location. The server was competent and friendly, and did a good job of packing leftovers. The location, in a strip shopping center on the corner of US 1 and Ludlam Road (SW 67th Avenue), is convenient to South Miami and East Kendall. The cons: The atmosphere and the food. The atmosphere was non-existent;. however, I don't expect much from any restaurant located in a strip shopping center. There is outdoor seating, but it is adjacent to the parking lot, and very noisy due to busy traffic on US 1 and Ludlam Road. The real killer was the food. Dreadful, pseudo-Chinese food made of ingredients of dubious quality. No, no one in our party became ill after eating there- but it could have- and should have- been so much better. If I am arm-twisted into going there again, I would try the sushi, as there is a Sushi Maki located in the restaurant. Although parking in the shopping center is free, it can be crowded, as there is a Tony Roma's Restaurant, in addition to other businesses, in this shopping center.
