“Excellent Cuban Experience!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2012 via mobile

Forget that the place is owned by Gloria Estefan, this place is amazing even without her reputation. The food, the music, the environment, the staff..... All of it exceptional.
I can simply congratulate Gloria for creating a great experience of Cuban cuisine and music in Miami.
My boys loved the food and I always get the empanadas and flan.
I keep hoping one day Gloria will walk in and I can say hello. What a great place!

So different from the one in Orlando due to size, but the view of the water and South Beach is incredible and goes weill with an evening mojito!

“Great Cuban food at the Miami airport”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2012

This time flying back into Miami airport from the Caribbean, we found ourselves in a different terminal than we were used to. The first thing we did was check the board for restaurants and found a listing for Bongo's Cuban Cafe (in the Delta terminal). We usually eat at La Carreta when we are flying American Airlines.

The cafe is in a little food court area and looks like a bar, so we were a little unsure. But, a woman sitting there said she always eats here when travelling, so we decided to try it out. The eating area overlooks one of the runways.

We had fried plantains with garlic butter dip as our appetizer and some delicious pork with lots of onions, rice and beans as our main course. We shared both the appetizer and entree and the portions were generous enough for sharing. The food was absolutely delicious. Service was quick and our server was pleasant and helpful.

We did not have time to stay for dessert or coffee, but they do offer traditional Cuban coffee.

This is definitely a "return to" place if we are ever in that same terminal agin.
