“Relaxing and Beautiful”

Silver Springs Nature Park

This was my second trip to the park, my first one being in 1985. It was much improved. The park's landscaping is well manicured and lovely. The atmosphere is one of relaxation and taking in the sights and sounds of nature. The boat tour guides were knowledgable and entertaining.
A suggestion might be that more daily entertainment shows be added, (in addition to the concerts.) The "Fantastic Fountain Show" left much to be desired.
I do not recommend Silver Springs Nature Park for teenagers due to the "low-key" atmosphere and lack of excitement. I do recommend the park for adults who seek a relaxing, slow-paced day outdoors.

We first went to Silver Springs to celebrate a quiet 43rd. anniversary. We had such a wonderful experience that we returned at Christmas. This time we took my brother and sister-in-law with us.
What a beautiful day we had. In fact all of us bought Silver Passes for the year. We were so blessed to see Roy Clark perform that day. The program was excellent and the people running the park so helpful.
We took our chairs and put them in a nice spot to see the show, then went to see the bears and ride some of the boats. The guides were so knowledgeable and helpful. There were NO LONG LINES.
People were very respectful of other peoples property. Just as we were told ,no one bothered our chairs that we sat down by the entertainment site early in the day. We got our lunch then enjoyed it while watching the entertainment. The food was good and not expensive.
This was an outdoor event and we could hear better than we could when going to large indoor concerts.
What a bargain to see great entertainers and relax in the beautiful park.
We are going this weekend to see the concert, just wish we lived closer to Ocala. You will not find any park cleaner or so much value for your money.
We are in our 60's and enjoy peaceful parks and clean surroundings without paying way too much. This has been our best value to date.
Take a folding chair and comfy warm clothes if you go on concert days.* Ocala can get cold.
Mr. and Mrs Gwin Wilburn and family
Hope to see you there!

Visited Silver Springs on Sunday, July 30, 2006. We had complimentary tickets for us & our 3 & 7 yr olds. It was an extremely clean park & VERY laid back (nothing like Orlando). The glass bottom boats are a treat for any age & the springs are beautifully clear (99% pure water). There is one "ride", which is a panoramic view of the park- nice & slow, nothing to give a thrill or anything. The kids area was great: feeding huge giraffes with our hands, carousel rides (everything is free in the park except for food), super petting zoo, semi-indoor playplace, small "boat" rides, bear exhibit, bird exhibit & bird show. The kids thought they were at the zoo. There is also an indoor "dancing fountain" show with music. The other 1/2 of the park is more natural habitat: panthers, exotic birds & alligators. There are several shows: bird, feeding alligators, snake show, etc. We didn't make all of the shows. We felt like the crowd was a bit older b/c of the laid- back approach of the park. The kids area & boats were the highlight, but I don't think I'd pay the $40 adult price or $30+ kids price for it. I think it would be a nice place for retired groups to enjoy a relaxing day.

Big Kudos to the Ohio tripadvisor member,- you wrote alot of the things I was planning on writing about.
I would just like to echo everything that has already been said.
I went for the first time as a child and just recently went back with my wife and we both just loved it. They have made alot of additions since I was there in the 1970's.
-I highly Recommended Florida's Silver Springs, make sure to pay them a visit the next time you are in Florida.
Like the Ohio tripadvisor member posted Silver Springs is alot less hectic than the Orlando theme parks are.
You will definitely enjoy it. I hope that You will enjoy the Pictures that I've submitted.

I visited Silver Springs park in Silver Springs, Florida for the first time over 20 years ago, as a child. This is the park where Johnny Weissmuller filmed Tarzan movies, where James Bond swam in underwater scenes, where old TV shows like Sea Hunt were filmed, and many other movies and TV shows. But this less known Florida attraction also has some of the most beautiful scenery and wildlife that Florida has to offer. It had a lot to offer a person, especially on their first visit to Florida.

I recently returned to Florida's Silver Springs in June 2005, and it has even more to offer. Silver Springs has new owners, and with it - new attractions. The Jungle Cruise boat ride is in the same place, but the boats have been replaced by glass bottom boats and renamed the Fort King River cruise, along with the added Lost River Voyage with the same glass bottom boats, and the classic Glass Bottom Boat tour with the old, familiar design. There are still the gator and snake shows, along with a creature show with spiders, bats, and others. And there are lots of alligators to see! They also have added: a Jeep Safari ride, a Lighthouse ride with a view from above the park, a bear exhibit featuring the huge Alaskan Kodiak bears, a Florida Panther exhibit, feed the girafffes, and a kids playground. The only thing missing that I can remember is the old car museum and deer park. But I like the new stuff better.

If you have not been to Florida's Silver Springs, I highly suggest giving them a visit the next time you are in Florida. It is only a short drive north of Orlando, and has a lot to do, but with a less hectic pace from the Orlando theme parks. You will enjoy it.

If you need more information, please look up their web site at Silversprings.
