“Wonderful place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

There isn't one bad thing I can say about this place. We absolutely loved the location, the place itself and the people who worked there. Would definitely go back. The place was spotlessly clean and Becky was so friendly and helpful with restaurant suggestions that it made it easy for us to get around. We had never been there before but with her help it made it seamless. I would recommend this place to anyone. Trust me you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Room 103 the Junior Suite was great.

The Capri is the cozy guest house of the tropical Siesta Key mansions you imagine yourself visiting. And your hosts (Capri staff) really want you to be comfortable, thinking of many details that only good hosts would! The rooms are smallish, but space is not missed as the tropics-inspired furniture and adequate kitchen are well layed out. All rooms open to a central quaint courtyard with comfortable furniture, tropical flowers, and clean grills fitting for socialization or relaxation. Towels, toiletries, beach supplies, and dvds are there as you need them. Ladies, one note, the hair drier there is weak. But really though, you're there for the beach which is only a short walk along a narrow lane and winding pathway. Even though the hotel is not beachfront, we did not feel disconnected from that great beach! This place is tasteful and just right.

Room Tip: We stayed in a king-bed. Unless your family, another couple on the sleep sofa would be tight. All...

We spent three nights at the Capri in early September. The resort is conveniently located in the heart of Siesta Key. Private access to the beach is a short walk. Landscaping is beautiful and the pool is clean. Our room (#102) was immaculate. It was small but more than adequate and it has a full kitchen. The manager, Becky, was friendly and helpful. We highly recommend the Capri.

My husband and I stayed at The Capri over Labor Day weekend as well and checked in with great expectations based on the fabulous reviews on Trip Advisor. We were not let down. The manager, Becky, is friendly and knowledgeable and gave great advice on where to go, what to do, and where to eat.

I won't bore you with details- read all of the recent reviews about The Capri and you will get the idea. This is a quaint little place where the manager treats you like a friend, you have all the amenities you could ask for while staying at the beach, and it really feels like a home away from home.

We stayed over Labor Day 2014. The property and the courtyard area are absolutely beautiful and well kept. The rooms have everything you need to make your stay comfortable: coffee filters, paper towels, robes and extra linens. Usually we have to buy coffee filters and paper towels at other resorts so this was a major plus! The rooms are smaller than some of the other places we've stayed in Siesta but it's good size for a couple or couple with small children. The beach on this part of the island is smaller and if you like look for shells, you'll be very happy with this beach. Becky and the other woman she works with are awesome and have been so incredibly helpful to me as I'm getting married here in 2014. I'm so glad my fiancé found this place after I was in tears over receiving very poor service at other resorts on Siesta. Overall our stay was excellent and I'm very happy to have found this place to bring my friends and family next year!

My husband and I spent three nights at The Capri over Labor Day weekend in celebration of my birthday. We stayed in 107, the Deluxe Suite. We’d never been to Siesta Key before, and WOW was it fantastic to have Becky (the manager) tell us the key points to know – how to get to the village, good places to eat, what to do on the beach – as well as welcome us to the Capri. She couldn’t have been a better “welcome wagon” for us!

Room 107 is the largest of all accommodations at The Capri. It is very well kept and updated, and provided everything we needed – oven, stove, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, dishes, glasses, utensils, coffee and coffee maker, creamer, salt/pepper, pots/pans, toaster, blender, and a nice dining area both inside and outside of the room. I found the bed to be comfy, but it was the only complaint my husband had. His back hurt every day after sleeping in that bed. The bedroom itself has a nice chest of drawers and a sizable closet (with bathrobes!), along with a flat screen television.

The living room was large with a couch, chair, coffee table and another flat screen. It was in the living room that we primarily accessed the complimentary Wi-Fi, and it was FAST! The bathroom was nice and clean, and I would have loved more counter space, but what can you expect at the beach, right? It was ample for what we needed, but I kept a few of the toiletries in the toiletry bag and hung it behind the door.

Though there is no scheduled daily housekeeping service, if you need to have any cleaning done, it’s a phone call away. Otherwise, you can exchange your bath towels and beach towels simply by placing them in the provided tote, right outside your door. The next day, the housekeeping staff will provide you with clean replacements (as well as a little surprise – Ritz Bitz peanut butter sandwiches).

The Capri offers a room where you can borrow beach toys as long as you return them, and also pick up extra supplies like toilet paper, coffee, creamer, dishwashing detergent, and other items that might need replenishing. There are even beach chairs to borrow or you can rent them at the beach. We brought our own beach chairs, umbrella and table, and never had an issue finding a good spot on the beach, even during the busy holiday weekend.

I also love how the front office offers DVDs for free use. Just watch your movie and return the DVD, and grab another one. Or, grab two! Or, three! Just return them to the front desk when finished.

We used Jerry’s Siesta Key Free Ride to get from The Capri into the village each evening. It’s about a 3-mile drive and rather than dealing with parking (which can be quite an issue in the village), we would simply call Jerry for a ride to the village, and then call back when we were ready to go back to The Capri. He and his drivers work on tips only, and drive little electric vehicles that seat 5 passengers. It’s really the best way to get around, and it’s reliable and fairly quick! They’ll even offer you a $5 coupon to use at certain businesses.

This was our first trip to Siesta Key and The Capri. We loved it, and will be back!

Room Tip: Room 107, the Deluxe Suite, is the largest. It's not crazy big though, but big for a beach plac...

Stayed here for two days with my husband and two teens. We arrived at 1:00, too early for check-in. However, we were given a parking spot, a room to change, and access to the share room. The share room contains chairs, umbrellas, floats, boogie boards and snorkeling equipment. Every beach property should have this room. The landscaping is beautiful and the room was spotless. Comfortable bed, nice little kitchen. Also the seating area outside was a very pleasant place to grill some steaks and have a glass of wine. Short walk to the beach, however we preferred driving to the public beach. That beach was wide and flat had no seaweed and you could get lunch as well. Room was a little tight for 2 adults and two teens but easily manageable when they cleanup after themselves.
