First off I’m not one to write reviews but I was thoroughly impressed and couldn’t resist. I did plenty of research before choosing this specific hotel. I read reviews, viewed pictures and hoped that it all lived up to what everyone said it was. Hands down it was amazing! We arrived rather late for check in but the front desk lady was very helpful and pleasant. We stayed in two different rooms only because we upgraded to a bigger bed our second night. Both rooms were extremely clean and felt like a home away from home. The rooms were nicely upgraded and very much to our liking. It was a pleasant and short walk to their beautiful white powered sandy beach. Siesta Key itself was very tranquil ,the village was a few miles down the road which we enjoyed as well. I highly recommend this for anyone who is just as stubborn and particular as I am when it comes to choosing a hotel.

Just returned this morning from Siesta Key. Perfect Beach even with the winds from hurricane Sandy. Had to leave a day early because of flight changes but really recommend this hotel and this area. We were there celebrating our 15th anniversary, upon check in the staff delivered a bottle of champagne. Despite the fact that we did not drink it, we thought it was very thoughtful. Many highlights for us, but the quaintness and location were awesome. As well as the beds - super comfy. We will be back!

I have nothing bad to say about this resort. The room was perfect. Very clean and updated. The resort staff was very friendly and very helpful. Chairs and beach towels to "borrow" from the front office, however you can rent beach chairs and umbrellas on the beach. Located at the North end of the island, which is very quiet, with just enough restaurants, bars, and stores within walking distance. Can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: None of the rooms are on the beach, however, its just a short walk, <2 minutes to the beach.

This place is a great find. Easy two minute walk down a private path to the georgeous siesta key beach. The room was regrettably small but packed with a full kitchen. The decor was new and nice. There is a central "alley" shared by six or so establishments with a park, and the beach access rd. There were new looking grills in our courtyard and each place had their own pool. The staff was super friendly and helpful, getting us in early and allowing a late checkout. We are already planning our return trip.

Had a lovely stay in a Destination King Suite. In our opinion, everything was exactly as advertised and photographed. Pretty grounds, nice pool area, complimentary coffe in the morning, great breakfast vendor (didn't try the hotdogs), easy access to the beach. Yes, there were shells, but it certainly didn't prevent us from long walks, barefoot. My husband is 6'6" and had no problem with our shower. We took advantage of the beach chairs and towels, and made the quick drive to Siesta Beach for a beautiful morning swim. We walked to the Sniki Tiki for some Sunday football, and to Crescent Beach grocery where we picked up some steaks which we grilled on the IMMACULATE grill. We used the nicely updated kitchen to prepare the rest of our dinner. Thank You, Buddy for the nice bottle of champagne, he overheard us mention that it was our wedding anniversary. So, this isn't the Ritz Carlton, but it is a very pretty, clean vacation spot with exceptional customer service. We would (and have) recommend and will definitely return to Sara Sea. A wonderful vacation getaway!

Spent 4 nights in a Hideaway room here and was not disappointed!

Service: Front desk staff was great. Very prompt, very polite and very helpful. Very willing to accomodate the needs of their guests.

Location: Located a few miles south of Siesta Key Village (5 minute drive). Easy access to the mainland (about a 5 minute drive). The resort is tucked away on a small cul-de-sac, shared by a few other resorts. Sara Sea is well off the road, making it truly feel like an island paradise. Our room was a 2 minute walk from Crescent Beach.

Room: We stayed in a Hideaway, which we read many reviews about the small size. I think we expected a closet after reading the reviews. However we were pleasantly pleased with the room size. It definitely isn't large, however it is not as small as reviewed. The key is good organization. If you use the space smartly, it really is plenty large enough. The bed was a little soft for my taste, but we were so tired from being at the beach all day, it didn't much matter. There was small table in the room and one outside on our patio. My only complaint, and it's a small one, is that there wasn't much natural light in the room.

The kitchen was perfect. We choose to make breakfast and lunch, and then go out for dinner. The kitchen is extremely well stocked - dishes, bowls, glasses, wine glasses, utensils, dish towels, pot holders, hand juicer, toaster, coffee maker....they really thought of everything. Your really only need to bring food! They even provided a sponge, dish soap and dishwasher detergent. Really good attention to detail.

Hotel pool and grounds: The resorts is really lush, very lush, tropical landscaping. Lots of lizards. :) We enjoyed the tropical walk to our room. Everything is kept in great condition. The pool is nice. When we were there, they were very few children. Another small complaint - the pool is only open until 9:00 p.m., so there is no late swimming. Not a deal breaker, just to note. Also there was a great sitting area in the middle of the rooms at the resort, completely equipped with a table, many lounge chairs, and large umbrella. There are also 2 huge grills, if you want to do your own cooking. Very nice, large, gas grills. Grilling utensils provided.

Overall, I couldn't have been more pleased with this resort. Really beautiful, great escape from the real world. I would recommend Sara Sea to anyone looking to stay in beautiful Siesta Key.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 170 - great private entrance, no neighbors. 2 minutes from the beach.

Spent 2 nights in a Boutique room. Front desk personnel were friendly and efficient. Room was spacious for 2 people but the bathroom is a bit small. Kitchenette was very convenient and would be great for a longer stay. King-size bed was comfortable and room was modern and clean. Room was a short walk to the beach where you could rent an umbrella and chair ($20 for the day or $12 for 4 hours). The only negative was the remodeling taking place at the resort next door. You had to literally walk through a construction zone in order to get to the beach. Very noisy and dirty but luckily the contractors stopped before sunset. Lots of neat little restaurants and bars in Siesta Key Village which is a short drive from Sara Sea. Pizza delivery from Rico's was fast and delicious. Lots of other food options in the area also (Clayton's was a great spot for breakfast). 7-11 across the street is convenient.

Room Tip: Go with at least a Boutique room for more space
