My husband and I went to the Greek Village for dinner because of the reviews on this site. We were looking for a nice evening out with good food. First the good, staff were excellent, very attentive and helpful. The menu was large and there were several specials offered. We both ordered the crab stuffed grouper, it came with soup. He had the chicken soup and I had the lobster bisque. Bth soups were flavourful but very salty. The main was just ok, the fish watery, which leads me to beleive it was cooked from frozen, portions were huge, I had to get a doggy bag.
The negatives .. the restaurant lacks atmosphere. There is Greek music playing and some art, but the table clothes are made from a heavy vinyl material that matches the upholstery on the booth benches, napkins were low quality paper, water glasses were large red plastic coca cola glasses. Food was served too fast. There is potential at this restaurant to take it up a noth, but it was busy so maybe they do ok as is. The washrooms also lacked attention, a good cleaning is necessary, the ceiling fan was covered in thick dust, walls and floors were dirty. Some nice fabric table cloths, and linen napkins, get rid of the plastic and you would have a much more enjoyable dining experience.
Bottom line - even though we are walking distance from this restaurant we will not be rushing back, it may be ok for a quick lunch but not for an evening out.
