“Old Florida Charmer”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

My husband used to stay here during his working career and now that he's retired, we wanted to go back to see if it still has the same gracious atmosphere we enjoyed. We were not disappointed. The main hotel building is historically old with a huge lobby where I'm sure the l920 wintering socialites gathered to see and be seen. Our favorite room is a poolside bungalow. If you enjoy staying off the beaten track and away from the chain hotels, you will enjoy the Kenilworth. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and had a comfortable bed. The desk clerks are efficient and friendly and knowledgeable of the hotel's history.

I have stayed at the Kenilworth many times over the last 25 years, and have always loved the charm and warmth it has, but have treated it more as a place to sleep, getting in late and returning to the racetrack early the next day. However, this past weekend I had the pleasure of actually enjoying this wonderful hotel with my family, swimming in the pool, doing a puzzle in the lobby and hanging out with other guests that seemed to want to absorb the great atmosphere that this hotel exudes. Don't miss the framed newspaper front pages chronicling the history of the Sebring area and the roll the Kenilworth played in the corridors leading to the banquette hall!

My boyfriend and I had a great time for our 2 yr anniversary weekend getaway. Kathy and staff was great in preparing our room with a romantic ambience to surprise him as I requested. We didn't feel like just any guests, we felt like we were meeting with old friends anywhere we went. It has a great historic and homey feel. Cheers to Brian at the bar and Scott for the ghost tour. We definitely recommend and come back anytime.

This was our first time at this property. We found the staff excellent and very helpful, the physical accommodations clean and comfortable. There is a peaceful and historical feel to the place; from the beautiful hardwood floors to the open sweeping main staircase. The staff all appear to enjoy their jobs. We will be back!

We just stayed at the Kenilworth. It was supposed to be a two night stay but we have 2 young children and with the rain over the weekend we could not find ANYTHING for a 2 ad 4 year old to do. So about the Hotel. Good: Check in was nice and fast. Continental Breakfast was large and better than average. Hot water was great in the Shower. Pool was large and my family enjoyed it. The Bad. Elevator was so slow and I was afraid we would get stuck in so we walked to the 3rd floor and back multiple times. Room was Warm and took a full day to cool off as well the fridge being unplugged so I was concerned our milk that we bought would go bad. Once turned on though it was so cold it made a can of soda freeze and explode in the frdge. The Tv and closet both flickered at random times and powered on and off by itself. The only other bad was a party on friday evening spilling out to the patio directly below our windows making it VERY difficult to get my to little ones to sleep at 8:30. Now I am not complaining and didn't say anything to the hotel but I would recomend anyone wanting a quiet room to request accordingly.

I'm a cyclist and I've been staying at the Kenilworth Lodge for a couple of years now during the Annual Bike Festival in September. Now mind you, it's an old hotel, but it's got that old Florida flavor to it. The staff does a great job in keeping it nice and clean. It has all the ameneties needed (nice small bar/lounge, pool, gym). Not sure if the food was part of the cycling festival or the actual hoteI, but the breakfast and lunch buffets were incredible. No complaints.

Room Tip: Because I always bring a bike, I prefer to stay on the first floor.
