“Working person's overnight lodging”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

Not a luxury hotel, but sheets/towels are clean, plumbing good, in-room coffee maker, pleasant front desk staff, free breakfast is popular with guests.
Hallway carpets are worn, lighting is a little dim, hallway air quality is okay but not great.
Low price, excellent location behind a Burger King and 7-Eleven, trucks parked outside but sound proofing is good enough to drown out the noise.

My sons baseball team stayed at the hotel next door but was fully booked. I was able to get this hotel, right next door for a reasonable price. It looks like some of the hotel has been updated and other areas still need a little bit of improvement. The pool area was recently done over with brick pavers, so when the sun was out, the decking was very hot. The pool itself could use a little TLC. The room was clean, I was in a non smoking room and unlike one of the reviews that I read, it did not smell bad. Needs to have larger pillows though! While there were many on each bed, they were more for a child than an adult!

Room Tip: Always choose a non smoking room, they seem to be the most up to date!

Don't trust their website to help you choose this location. It must have been done when they first opened. The entire experience was bad from start to finish. The whole hotel was dirty and smelled very bad. No early check-in; just stepping off the elevator onto carpet that was very dirty was the next clue as to what the room would be like. The room smelled like smoke and mildew; everything was dirty; poor quality towels; smoke alarm hanging from the ceiling; We had planned to extend our stay for another night but checked out and got a better hotel. We would have done this for the first night only our stay had been booked online and was non-refundable and all other hotels were booked. When I went onto Choice Hotels website to report this hotel, instead of showing I had stayed they show that the reservation was cancelled. WHAT? don't they know how to close out a room stay without cancelling the reservation or is this how they keep Choice from finding out about their poor conditions. Because they showed the room as cancelled I couldn't do a review on the website. How clever. Never again.

Room Tip: The view doesn't matter when the room stinks.

Very nice, decent price for 1 night. This was a side trip before our "real" vaycay. Loved the convenience of a quick drive to the beaches. Only 10 min to get to Siesta key beach. All staff that I encountered have been very pleasant. Breakfast was extremely nice. Definitely will stay here again.

I got this hotel because we were going on a family vacation with my parents and my family from Orlando. it was to celebrate my little cousins birthday and it was a great choice of a hotel even though they were stayed more on the beach side I believe this hotel was very good tonight everything was organized and place we were in the third floor I really did enjoy it I really recommend this place I'm going to go back for sure.
even though it's a little bit further from the beach my family had a good time visiting us here.

Do not stay here. Everything is kept to a minimum-Kleenex, towels, toilet paper, 22 ml of shampoo if you are lucky per day. Coffee never replaced for room. Pool was under lock and key, asked to open and several hours still not unlocked. that is where you are told to go for beach towels-either not open or no towels--ever for 7 days. Desk staff did not know where to tell you to go eat even though we later found restaurants. Kelly was helpful later in the week. Door of your room opens directly into the small area for the tub and toilet. No spot in the room to dress with any privacy away from the front door of the room. One morning I was sleeping in. Front desk woke me up to ask if I could be out of the room in one hour, they were installing safes in the room. I had a do not disturb sign on the door. They did not install the safe until hours later.
Building is dated. No spa as described--cement blocks with open wooden container with pipes and junk next to it. One public computer available a few feet from the front desk. Looked at hotel web site to see that the rooms were listed for about $50 per night less than our rate. Went to the desk to discuss this--no one around. Next day told desk manager of difference and the fact that we had two rooms. Changed rate for the rest of the week--but would not for previous night. First night place was swamped with soccer kids--rest of the week no one was staying there. It is close to I-75, but it is easy to find your way around after one day. Really- go somewhere else--not relaxing, a hassle in all regards. At breakfast told the attendant the milk was sour and she argued it was not. Pat Ide

Upon check in we was told we could use ou=r AARP card, then was told becuase the hotel was full all discounts were excluded. Rooms was $104.00 for both double queen, and also for a King room yet I paid $189.20 for a queen room, and then $150.20 for a King room, because I had to switch rooms they was sold out. Becuase they was sold out the prices an discounts were changed. Buyer beware of their practices, get it in writing upon check in.
