“Great value, comfortable but tired.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012 via mobile

The service is friendly, the rooms are comfortable, the bathroom is small with just shower and toilet. The sink is in the main room. Pluses: a small refrigerator and free wireless. It was clean and well-kept, but the decor is a bit tired and the bathroom door was crooked and the sink was cracked. For the price we paid, it really was an excellent value and suited us fine for a 2 night stay. The complimentary breakfast selection was good, too. The hallway on our floor smelled musty and a bit damp. Overall acceptable.

This was my 5th visit to comfort inn sarasota and in fairness the other visits have been been acceptable ,what was a decent hotel has now descended to the pits .On arrival a very cold welcome also stayed 3 nights on 5th and 2 nights again on the 13th so in all six visits to this hotel. The breakfasts have gone way downhill as regards the quality of food ,tasteless sausages and very poor selection of cereals also on second visit the fruit juice was empty for the whole weekend and no apology or alternative .Also the breakfast area is that crowed you cannot even get a seat on some occasions and nobody is interested or concerned, also completely different staff from last years visit and they are not very helpful at all (complete indifference). Also the bread was frozen straight from the freezer nothing fresh and the one day the boiled were all slimy.I SHALL NEVER EVER BE GOING BACK TO THIS HOTEL and i if you take my advice on trip advisor you wont either.

Room Tip: dont bother

On arrival the reception had no knowledge of our booking, after showing the e mail conformation she went in a back office to speak to a manager. The manager who was quite loud told the receptionist that they did not deal with the booking company and tell her this which we could clearly hear and found quite offensive. They dismissed our booking reservation although it was paid in full in advance. We then had to email the booking company at get a room who then made contact with the hotel to confirm our booking. No apology was forthcoming from anyone getaroom said they had faxed the details and had to resend booking details.Throughout this process we felt unwelcome and unhelped.Room,Pool and breakfast were fine.

Clean hotel and very good breakfast. Hotel was very noisy, unsupervised kids next door one night and golf tounament the other night. Of course its no fault of hotel but seems the walls were not well insulated. Nice staff. $89 a night made for resonable stay.

However, My sheets had not been changed. Yes, am sure. In the middle of the night I felt something stuck to my pajamas and it turned out to be a dirty sock. Yes, I am downright sure the blackish stain on the bottom of the sock indicated it was dirty. I spoke to a everyone I could, and no manager would compensate me one penny. They said the sheets were clean, because they asked the housekeeper. Well, I have a photograph of the sock. Even if this place is normally fine, I would not recommend staying here because the way they handled a customer complaint, and a very polite complaint, was unacceptable.

I booked the hotel 2 days before memorial w/end with a rate of $99 which was much too high, for the standard of hotel, which included b/fst..sausage,eggs..for ($50) yes, not for a high rate. location is right off 1-75 with the beach 15mins away.. I'll stay there again @ a much cheaper rate...

Room Tip: right on the main street leading to the beach..clark road.

This was a good clean comfortable place to stay. I would bring my girlfriend and kids here or stay solo. Good sized room. Free breakfast was awesome, included the usually waffle machine but also sausages and scrambled eggs too. The pictures you see posted by other tripadvisor members are pretty accurate and much like the room I had. It is about a 8-10 minute drive from downtown Sarasota and the coast but if you need something by the freeway its right by the I-75, although far enough from it so you don't hear it. Everything was in good repair and worked. The bed was reasonably comfortable. There's a Burger King and 7-eleven within 50 yards in case you need some late night eats. I would come back here again.
