“Great pool”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2014 via mobile

This hotel Is in the heart of Sarasota. Room was typical size and had all the amenities you would expect from a hotel of this caliber. The pool is amazing! Had a great time at the tiki bar. I would highly recommend hyatt Sarasota to travelers

The Hyatt was wonderful - our room was lovely, pristine, and because we were on a high floor we had a great view! FYI - if at all possible request a balcony room on the marina side of the hotel - it will really enhance your stay.
I loved the pool area - not too large but with sufficient space to be quite comfortable.
Breakfast was very good - the buffet was very satisfying but what I enjoyed most was the specialty item each morning. Having a different item each day definitely broke up the dreaded buffet monotony!
The Hyatt does have a daily shuttle to St. Armand's Circle which is THE place to be in Sarasota - well, okay, at least for me it was. I found the shops and restaurants there to be quite fun - especially while my husband was at his conference each day. But please pay attention to the shuttle times - I found them to be most inconvenient which is why I drove or took a taxi.
We truly enjoyed the Hyatt and look forward to our next visit there!

Room Tip: High-floor marina side balcony rooms should be your first choice.

We stayed for four nights. Only 10 minutes from airport. Hotel's appearance was great. Valet guys watched our rental car while we checked in although we opted to self-park. Beautiful chic decor. Very clean lobby and halls. Easy and speedy check-in and check-out. Our room was very nice. We got a double-bed with a balcony facing the bay.. A+ view. Only thing we didn't like was the limited drawers; Not much space for a family of four. Husband lived off the luggage but it was okay. Bathroom was a bit small. Pool was great with waterfalls, salt water filter system and warm. Jacuzzi also had a waterfall. The pool was a little congested at times with both children and adults so if you're looking for a romantic getaway, maybe not here. Staff was great, especially at The Hurricane Hut (outdoor bar.) We recommend a rental car or own car unless you want to stay within St. Armand's Circle and Lido Beach, which is fine, since they provide free shuttle. We visited Siesta Key Beach which is a 15-20 minute ride and worth it; amazing beach. Many restaurants at St. Armand's Circle. Columbia restaurant was excellent, Crab and Fin was very good and the small pizzeria had amazing tasting pizza. Overall, loved it and will definitely return. We decided to join their Gold Club.

A large group of my relatives got together in Sarasota recently and most of us stayed at the Hyatt. Upon arrival, my wife and I were informed that our reservation had started the previous evening and that, when we were a no-show, they gave away our room. We hurriedly found another hotel for the evening many miles away. The following day, a room became available at the Hyatt and what a wonderful time we had after that. The hotel is located on a beautiful marina, has a stunning pool, tons of amenities, lovely rooms with comfortable beds and was convenient to Main Street. Free parking is another nice bonus. At first, it appeared that we would be charged for the no-show, but the very courteous front desk manager, Justin, was kind enough to reverse the charges after we figured out why the reservation was made in error (a room had been pulled from a block and inadvertently the dates had not been changed and I did not notice this in the confirmation email.) I would highly recommend this hotel for a group or couple stay.

Stayed for five nights with the family after a very full-on week of theme parks in Orlando. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt and will hopefully return to Sarasota in the future.

Quiet location on the harbour is excellent but its also close enough to the centre of town for restaurants as well as having easy access to beaches. The staff were helpful without exception and the 'resort' feel to the pool area, with fire pit for Smores in the evening, took away all the stresses of the previous week! The gym is very small and fairly claustrophobic but, if you want to exercise, there's a nice running route over the bridge to the beaches, though best avoided in the midday heat of August.

A handful of negatives, but none of them will stop me returning. The evening restaurant menu was limited and when we visited, several mains were unavailable; the business centre was full of kids playing games on the first day and then out of service for the rest of our stay; the resort fee covered the hire of paddleboards and fishing rods, but they were never available when we wanted to use them and the guy at the waterside responsible for them seemed totally disinterested. But they're relatively trivial and the rest of the stay was excellent.

We also looked at the Ritz Carlton which is practically next door, but they wanted to charge us a huge amount each day for the children to have breakfast. Hyatt was a bit more grown up about it!

Room Tip: Most have good views - one side overlooks the bay, the other the pool and harbour. A standard double...

We had to spend one night in Sarasota to pick up our daughter from an internship at the Mote Laboratory, so we decided to splurge a little. The last time we were there in June, we stayed at the Hyatt Place Bradenton Airport, which was a very nice hotel. We decided to stay at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota.

We were beyond pleasantly surprised. The property was beautiful, located on a harbor. It was far enough from Tamiami Trail Rd to suppress all road noise from this major street. Our room was spacious, and located on the west side of the hotel, overlooking the harbor. They had a happy hour, a pool with whirlpool spa, a firepit, and an excellent restaurant. We paid a $15/day "resort fee" which included rentals of paddleboats, kayaks, and bicycles, WiFi, and free in-room water bottles! (unheard of!). We also bought the breakfast package which included a fully-stocked buffet breakfast (about 30' of food!), with the option of getting a custom egg dish, and freshly-squeezed orange juice! Also, the staff was top-rate, and very helpful.

We're already planning our next visit to Sarasota, and we will definitely stay at the Hyatt Regency.

Room Tip: For a beautiful view, get a room overlooking the harbor.
