“Like transporting to the tropics”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

The moment you walk in the door the fragrance of coconut welcomes your senses. This is a BEAUTIFUL property located right in the "heart of Sarasota. Walk to the Van Wezel theater across the street or stroll downtown. Located right across from the bay you get to enjoy one of the worlds premiere marinas. One caveat...something needs to be done to improve the in house dining experience. The "restaurant" looks like a high school cafeteria and the food isn't much better.

Thank you for your positive review towards our hotel Gpetriestorystar. We’re definitely glad that you were able to enjoy the property and its surroundings of what Sarasota has to offer. If you happen to return any time in the future, I saw there were a few things on your list that weren’t mentioned such as the Ringling Museum or the Mote Marine Aquarium. Both of which would definitely be a great experience.

I had the pleasure of using the Hotel Indigo for a local workshop that I was presenting yesterday. This was the first time I had used the Hotel Indigo but it will not be the last! Being a very small group I did not expect the level of service that was extended to my group! I can honestly say that we received nothing less than "Ritz Carlton" service from the entire staff yesterday! From the moment we arrived and thought the day staff was checking in to make sure we had coffee, water and some sweet treats for the afternoon! Breakfast and lunch was outstanding and served with a smile! Your hotel added to the greatness of our workshop experience and I cannot thank you enough!

I would also like to comment on the professionalism and help from Lany the banquet manager she was a delight to work with!

Floridawillsgirl, thank you for your review about our hotel! It is so nice to hear that your meeting experience was positive. We love the fact that our hotel is small enough to allow our meeting attendees to feel like they are our biggest group to take care of… because they are!!. Thank you for referring to our service as nothing less than the “Ritz Carlton.” We look forward to holding one of your meetings here again in the future!

This was our first stay in Sarasota, calling in on relatives on our way from Orlando to The Keys. Sarasota is a lovely place and the Indigo a wonderful hotel. Everything is clean and fresh, the staff are welcoming and very helpful. Our room on the third floor was great with a huge shower. Our package included the breakfast buffet - which was superb. All you could wish for - omelette station, bacon, sausage etc, cereal, fruit and toast - BUT (and this really bugs me) if you want juice, which we did, you have to pay extra for it. It takes about ten minutes to walk into the main restaurant area downtown, and I would strongly recommend The Bijou Cafe - it's wonderful. All in all a great stay in a great hotel.

Thank you Sharon J, we are so glad that you enjoyed your stay. Our Buffet offers a wide variety of food options at a reasonable price. We do offer all of our juices at an additional cost. We hope you come back again whenever your in town to visit relatives.

This was our first trip to Sarasota, and the Hotel Indigo proved to be a perfect location - very quick and easy to get to many places of interest. The free parking and wifi are great perks. The hotel has a very inviting lobby, bright, clean & airy; the staff was very friendly, the rooms were comfortable and spacious. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to others.

This was our second stay at the Hotel Indigo. We had a lovely room on the third floor. All of the staff we met were excellent and helpful. The bathroom was well lit with a lovely large walk in shower. They offer a very nice buffet breakfast and the food was yummy. The hotel is conveniently located to many attractions. We were in town for the Sarasota Film Festival and our accomodations worked out beautifully. I would definitely stay at the hotel again.

Room Tip: Despite the fact that our room was near the elevators, it was very quiet up on the third floor.

Stayed here one night on business, influenced by the positive reviews. Parked in the underground garage (free) because the open lot was full. Greeted at check in with a smile, and pleasant surprise to find out the hotel is part of the Priority Rewards network (including Holiday Inns, Intercontinental Hotels). Got a room on the 7th floor, no noise issues. Decor was appropriately bright and resort-like, with some almost decorator touches. Bathroom had a large shower including a chair to sit in. One off note was that, upon entering the room smelled a strong smell that reminded me of liniment. About a ten minute walk to downtown (Main Street) restaurants and clubs, and a little bit further to the marina. Did not try the restaurant. Saw that they have some bikes that you can rent by day. Would definitely stay there again if visiting Sarasota.

We stayed here last year for a concert at Van Wezel and came back again for the same purpose. We chose a room above the ground floor this time because they allow pets there. The concert hall is a short walk across the street, and the hotel is centrally located for driving to Armand circle, Mote Aquarium, Ringling museum, and Selby botanical garden. The room was spacious enough, bed comfortable, coffee pot in room, good shower, easy free park. We'll be back.
