“Convenient location friendly staff.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

Hotel Indigo fit for what we wanted to do in Sarasota, visit my daughter it’s not the place if you think the beach is nearby. The hotel is clean the staff is friendly and accommodating, we did not try the food. Parking in the small lot by the door or underground is fine.

Dash4006, we are glad you came to spend time with your daughter. It is even better that you chose to enjoy your time at our hotel. We are not right on the beach but conveniently located in Downtown Sarasota. We hope you come back whenever you are in town.

We really enjoyed our stay here at this wonderful boutique type hotel located in the heart of downtown Sarasota! We chose it because it was within walking distance to the VanWeizel Center and were pleased to find great rooms and very helpful staff!

Room Tip: We were in room 315 which is next to the elevator so we could hear it early in the morning when it s...

Thank you for your review GKimb, it was a pleasure having you stay at our hotel. We are conveniently located close to the Van Wezel, in the summer, they have live music on Fridays, and you can hear it form our parking lot! We hope to see you again soon!

We booked here following a great stay last year. Not quite as good this year. Hotel nice decor, clean, lovely rooms and helpful staff. The problem was a noisy room. AC very noisy and so switched it off and opened the window, then the traffic noise did not allow a restful night sleep. We also had to ask the staff to remove the fridge which also was very noisy. A shame as our stay last year was excellent. Suggest rooms at the front of the hotel are quiet.

PebsDorset, thank you for your recent comments about your stay. It sounds like you just couldn’t get a restful night’s sleep and we want to apologize for the noise. We are in the process of upgrading the air conditioners and we are finding solutions to issues which affect our guests. We hope you will come back again and let us know if you are planning another trip to Sarasota.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Indigo. The hotel was really nice with a great vibe from the lobby bar to the guest room. The place was spotless and the service was great, everyone was very pleasant. The parking is a little tight if you are in an SUV, but it is still mangeable. We were just minutes from St. Armand's Circle for great dining and shopping. I will definitely be back to enjoy this hotel and the area again.

Flatsskipper, we are so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay with us! Thank you for your feedback and your comments. The vibe of the lobby is bright and refreshing. We try to pay attention to the little details in cleaning; it is so nice that you recognized it as being spotless! St. Armand’s is a great place to walk around in the beautiful sun and shop or have some lunch. We cannot wait to have you back and hear about what else you will discover in this town. Happy Travels!

The staff is friendly and accomodating at this Sarasota Charmer. The maintenance department keeps on top of the wonderful palette of paint colors throughout, and there is an overall feeling of quality at this hotel and you feel that it is managed very well. The check-in process was smoothe and parking is free.

There are some noticeable downsides. Unlike the Hyatt and the Ritz-Carlton there are virtually no views from the well appointed charming rooms. The lobby, while being inviting, is lit up like a baseball stadium, so nightime ambience is lost completely. They have a limited liquor license (they only serve beer and wine) and the "pool" is essentially a hot tub and a teeny tiny plunge pool. The pool area is only full sun in the middle of the day, in the afternoon the building blocks the sunshine. And to make matters worse, you hear and see the cars going by.

DavidLur, thank you for your nice comments about our property. It would be nice to have the property right on the bay like the Hyatt or the Ritz-Carlton. We do, however, have views of the Downtown area and the Marina. I suspect that we may not have turned down our lights when you were in the lobby at night. We usually turn the lights down at 5pm to create that ambiance you are speaking of. Since we are a small hotel, we just do not have enough rooms to have the full liqour license; we try to make up for it in other ways such as by offering local and craft beers and seasonal wines. The spa wading pools are the water element we provide and if we had more space, we would love to have a full size pool. I hope you come back and try our boutique hotel again!

We stayed at different indigo boutique hotels before and this was our first stay at this conveniently located hotel with free parking and free wifi. The look is feel is clean and modern with a marine theme and colors throughout. The staff is very polite and welcoming. The bedding was excellent and the amenities just what was needed and not more.
