“Celebrate Sundown on Siesta Key Beach at the drum circle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2014

Every time you visit, the circle will be different. From small, quiet, seated audiences to large exuberant participants - the experience depends on the day. Take a look at this video to get a sense of the vibe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APhutxQ7wzI

Come with a blanket or a chair, a picnic or some wine and cheese (no glass on the beach). Bring a drum or a musical instrument. Or just come and relax listening to the sounds and watching people dance. Most of all be open to be a part of the fun.

It's a family friendly event every Sunday evening starting about an hour before the sun sets. Just head over to the main beach pavilion and look down the beach to the left. You'll see people gathering in the area well before the drumming starts. The sounds of the drums and crowd spread on the wind and are enjoyed all around the main beach area. The celebration can go on for hours.

This is a great way to end the day on Siesta Key Beach.

“A MUST do”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014

About 1000 people gather on the white beach at sunset to dance the night away to the drum beat. People of all ages are dancing. Kids, grandparents, teens and more. Bring your drum or just dance. A spectacular event that is great to photograph. My teens and our international friends all love this. One of the best beach experiences.

“Not bad but nothing to special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

This is a popular event for many locals and non-locals alike. I like to go once a year or so. It was better years ago when there seemed to be more diverse participation.

Had a great time at the Drum Circle on Sunday at sunset. Met friends and had a delicious picnic with all the trimmings while listening to the music and chillin'!!

“Organizers really bossy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2014

Have been to other drum circles ....this was a drum line with no view of the sunset over the water (just over the dunes / buildings). The drummers were great but the atmosphere was not...other circles for sunset are exactly that, a drum circle with most dancing going on outside of the circle so drummers can face each other & interact effectively thru shifts in rhythms. Here the organizers kept pushing people back so not very good dressed up dancers could 'perform' for everyone. We took the kids to dance around a little to burn off their energy, listen to some drums & watch a beautiful sunset. Would not return ....
