“Went for Sunday Brunch...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

We went in expecting Sunday brunch but ended up with just "lunch" We ordered a few Tappas dishes, all were GREAT. Our server was very kind & attentive. (tho we were the only people at the time in the entire place!) The Sangria was also good. I would def recommend & def will be back!

“A great experience!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2014

Six of us tried Jalea for the first time tonight and all loved it. We ordered traditional paella plus 6 warm tapas to share, and couldn't have been happier. Our waiter helped us with our selections...the duck confit with pears and port, the mushrooms stuffed with shrimp & scallops, scrumptious lamb chops, spicy potatoes, butternut squash with Lima beans & peas and more. All were delish! And the grand finale...their bread pudding...was fantastic. Tomorrow, we're heading back at 11 to try the Cuban coffee. We highly recommend it!!!

“Fiesta of Flavors”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2014

My fiancée and I went and had 2 tapas-plato mixo- a mix plate of chorizo, jamon, olives, cheese, and balsamic peppers--a cold plate -very tasty - my favorite though was the tapa from the hot side which was amazing!!! A Jalea specialty- warm goat cheese spread served with warm bread(super yummy) Im sorry I can not remember the name, but the beef dish we had was served with fries and fresh cilantro rice -had a smoky sauce served on the plate and was very tasty. I wanted to dip everything in the sauce once trying the dish. An evening with great service, friendly management, and a vast array of flavor explosions!!! We will be back to try other dishes, for there is an abundance to choose from that sounded tasty as well!

Delicious authentic cuisine. If Hana recommends it, try it! Great tapas and drink specials too. Give it a try, you'll be glad you did

“terrible service, tapas not much better.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2014

Were just getting ready to walk out after waiting 15 minutes at the bar, without even being acknowledged by the bartender/server who passed us at least 5 times...... then finally got served. Too bad, wish we would have left!!!
Food was all cold, portions ridiculously small, and pricey for the portion size.
Flavor of the food was good, but again, ordered all hot tapas & ALL were served luke warm. Asked for bread, server did eventually bring out, WITHOUT butter. After another 10 minute wait without seeing her check on us, finally asked the busboy for some.
Had been here before when a different name & I believe ownership.....it definitely used to be 1 of our favorite light eating spots downtown....doubt if will return again. Will drive the extra few minutes to St. Aarmands & go to Columbia!!!
