“New York style deli”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2014

We have stopped for lunch at TooJay's several times while shopping at the mall. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait to get in. Service is good with seasoned wait staff. We like the onion soup and matzo ball soup to start. Sandwiches are piled high - New York style - on fresh rye bread. Cold cuts are high quality meats, tuna is also very good. The potato salad had too much mayo, but the cole slaw was tasty. Their key lime pie was fairly authentic. All in all, a good place to stop and eat while shopping.

“Chickenless chicken noodle soup”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013

Went on 12/29/13 a Sunday. Ordered chicken noodle soup. I did not find even one piece of chicken in the chicken noodle soup. Also, waitress was a "hide and seek server".
Still, a good place to dine in Sarasota, FL. My husband loves their stuffed cabbage.

“Not Worth the Wait”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2013

Visited TooJay's on Lake Avenue, West Palm Beach on Monday 12/9/13 to celebrate mom's 95th Birthday. Service was poor, and the wait intolerable. Several tables of diners who arrived after our party of 4 were served before us. We waited, and waited and waited. Finally, our uncomplicated food orders arrived, and 2 out of 4 orders were not correct. The server never asked us if we needed refills, and didn't ask if everything was alright. The manager visited our table to extend his apologies and learned of my mother's birthday. He mentioned that he hoped the meal would end well. You would think that he would at least bring Mom a birthday desert treat on the house! FUHGETTABOUTIT! That's what we shall do in the future - FUHGETTABOUTTOOJAYS!

“ALWAYS good food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2013

Had some excellent black bean soup and a fresher than fresh tuna salad sandwich. Toojay's never disappoints! Oh, and the killer chocolate cake is to die for! Doesn't matter what you order, it's always good. Sometimes there is a long wait to be seated, but that is just the price of the good food. I always make it a destination for a meal when I visit Sarasota.

“Always worth the wait”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2013

TooJay's has been in Sarasota for about 11 years. It has 120 seats, a varied menu, with lots of sandwich choices, always good soups. Our server was quick, efficient, and very helpful. I ordered my lunch and she suggested something else that would give me the same food and save $2.
It always reminds me of a New York Deli, because of the food choices and the incredible desserts. The entire staff is very professional and knowledable. Our host Michael saw my companion needed to sit and he offered seats while we waited for our table.Very Nice! The food is always excellent,We will be back.
