We had a group of 6. Two had the gnocchi dish, two had pasta, and two had the veal bellagio. We all enjoyed the meals. We were all pleased with the comfort and atmosphere of the entire restaurant. The waiters were very good and very knowledgeable. It was a true family restaurant.
All six of us gave it a thumbs up.

Family style usually means that the diners share large portion meals. At Bellagio, it means you are being greeted, served and cooked for by family. The young waiter was more professional and attentive than the most seasoned waiter. The father is behind the wine bar and makes his own lemoncello( awesome). Mom cooks and the portions are large and the food seems more like going over your Italian friend's house for dinner than eating in a restaurant. When we ordered a Caesar salad to share, the waiter said, "do you want my mom to split it in half". Nice touch. Will definitely go back.Location is a bit odd and you might not stop unless you read the reviews which means uncrowded and no wait(for now).

It was our first time at Bellagio and we will definitely return, but on a special occasion. It's a bit pricey for everyday dining. The food was excellent! Best Italian we've had in Sarasota. After dinner, the owner brought out free limoncello that he had made. It was great! The restaurant is small, but very comfortable and attractive. We were using a Restaurant.com coupon, and we were a little surprised that they added a 20% tip automatically.

We've eaten at Bellagio at least a half a dozen times and have NEVER anything but a sublime dining experience. The same is true for the folks who have been with us. The pasta dishes are too die for and the seafood is also first rate. Service is home spun and attentive and you get the sense that they really appreciate your being there. Easily one of the best dining experiences one can have in Sarasota, especially if you are looking for authentic Italian and a relaxing atmosphere.
