“Again and again”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2013 via mobile

Have been dining here for 20 years and never had a bad meal. Had dinner here this evening and again it was well done. Fresh seafood well prepared in creative and inovative ways.

“Armands Circle reasonably good fare, outdoor dining a plus”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

Sarasota in the Winter time means most everyone dines between 5 and 9 p.m. Choosing a spot with nice outdoor dining turned the indoor volume down several notches to be able to have a conversation during your dinner. Crab and Fin provided just that-the outdoor dining we chose was on a side steet that made an otherwise large Armands Circle crowd magnet seem like a neighborhood gem. Reasonably well prepared seafood dishes with a smattering of Italian dishes and an acceptable wine-by-the-glass list provided a dining spot where I would frequent again "to eat" but not "to dine." Friendly service.

“This is a keeper”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

We sat outside for dinner. The atmosphere was very nice. Our waiter was very curtious and friendly. We were sent to the bar as our table was getting ready. The bar was clean and service was fast. Once we were seated we were given plenty of time to review the extensive menu. I had fish which was cooked perficly and my wife had seea scallops with short ribs, melted in her mouth. The only negative was some people did smoke.

“Great seafood restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

My husband and I dined here for lunch on one occasion and for dinner on another. Both meals were delicious. For dinner we were seated on the second floor at a table overlooking St. Armand's Circle. Very nice, especially with piano music playing in the background. The mandarin orange and beet salad with greens was truly delicious. We thank our server, Shelly, for this suggestion. The crab cakes were the best I have ever eaten. The fish dishes that we ate were delicious as well. The Charley's Chowder which is tomato based is very good. In fact, we enjoyed everything about this restautant and it is one of our favorites in Sarasota. Can't wait to return next year.

“A Fading Beauty?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

Great location for foot traffic — all the tourists walk in off St.Armand Circle. Very nice dining room, delightful sidewalk tables good for people watching (look out for the piano maestro!) Some dishes are fine: excellent gazpacho (best in town), good (expensive) oysters, good caviar from the local Mote Marine Laboratory, priced to match. But my last seafood pasta was tired, perfunctory in cooking and presentation; Julie's grilled Tuna overcooked. Good wine selection by the glass.

Service professional, good. Prices not low. Need to reinvigorate the cooking.
