“The photo attached to this address is a little weird”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

Sahara is located in a strip mall near Sarasota high school. I have no idea where this little red place is. We love the falafel. The place is simple, clean, and busy at lunch time. The vegetarian platter with hummus, falafel and a salad make me very happy!

“Yummy Gyro”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

Located in a strip mall this is a middle eastern restaurant with some grocery items as well. No wait service. The gyro here was quite delicious. Very fresh salad atop the lamb meat with tzatziki sauce and feta. The pita was soft but too thin as the wrap broke apart rather easily. I also had some yogurt milk which was an interesting change. It had a nice tartness to it. Including tax the pita was $5.87 and the yogurt milk was $1.87 so a very reasonable lunch. On the way out we got a box of Turkish Delight (Lokum) which is an unusual nutty candy. Only thing preventing five stars was that the lamb was slightly overcooked and there was a table that needed to be bussed when we got there and had not been attended to by the time we left.

“Very tasty, good quality , good value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013 via mobile

I love this place. The only problem is if you ever eat the humus here you'll never be able to eat it anywhere else ever again. Their fresh humus is better than any I've eaten anywhere else ever! I usually get the gyro platter with tabuli salad and humus. It comes with amazingly fresh pita bread. I also enjoy the wraps made with the fresh pita and are very reasonable.and They also have a daily special of a gyro, fries and soda that fiancé eats. He loves it. Yum! The location is in a traffic heavy location where parking can be a little tricky. It's so worth it! The service is generally pretty quick. I would agree the servers aren't the most outgoing, warm and friendly, but, I've never experienced them to be rude. To me they are just rather quiet.

Great middle eastern food. Vegetarian platter is always good. They also have a limited amount of middle eastern groceries for sale.

“Cheap & tasty”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2012 via mobile

This is a great lunch stop, it's not a five star restiraunt but the food is tasty and the price is right, you order at the counter so service is nonexistent, atmosphere is weak but they are next to a dive shop what can you expect. Cost is between 6-10 dollars a person depending on how you order. Highly recomend the hummus and taboli.
