Have been wondering about this place for years...always seems so crowded. Went there this evening and had an overall disappointing experience as well as some of the worst food that has ever been served to me and my family.
Started off with the waiter becoming somewhat turned off at the fact that we wanted to order appetizers first so they would come out sooner? It was truly bizarre. He then ignored us for a significant time after that and didn't take our meal orders...cleaned other tables...walked by us like we didn't even exist. When meals finally did arrived, they really were the worst food ever served. Fried clams were itty bitty pieces, anything with stuffing containted no seafood, could go on oand on but not worth the energy. Just clueless about seafood preparation and the quality of what they are starting off with with was an embarrassment to anyone associated with this establishment.
If you enjoy food...stay away.

The first time I ate there it was great. (about 20 yrs. ago)
The next time was about 2 yrs. ago and it was fair at best.
The last time it was terrible. The baked potato, lobster and cole slaw all tasted the same....ugh! The corn on the cob was old and tough...the only good thing was the hush puppy! I will never go back! Please don't waste your money.

We had a great time here. The food was delicious and the atmosphere wonderful. We found ourselves wishing we had gone back here instead of to some of the other places we went.

It's not a fancy restaurant, but the food was great. Daily menu printed on newsprint. Service was fast, and very pleasant. Prices very reasonable. Crowded... even when we arrived at 6pm.
I ate at several other restaurants in sarasota (visiting family there), and this was the best.
