“Fresh, fresh, fresh. Great for vegetarians and meat eaters alike!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

One price for all you can eat. Salad bar with Caesar salad, Asian chicken salad, lettuce and a very long salad bar with all kinds of tasty toppings like tuna tarragon pasta. Three hot pasta dishes including one or two vegetarian pasta dishes, six homemade soups on the soup bar, baked potato bar with all the fixin's, fruit bar with puddings, bread and muffin bar with foccacia bread and foccacia pizza, drink station and both soft ice cream and soft yogurt stations with dry toppings. Higher prices for dinner than for lunch. Great value. Great place to take the kids. Lots of booths. They keep everything fresh and well stocked. You can get anything you want for take out. Coupons available often and gift cards available with special gift card deals around Christmastime. Very reasonable prices. One of the best values in town.

“Sweet Dining At Sweet Tomatoes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2012

If you enjoy a multitude of fresh ingredients in your salad plus other healthy selections in an immaculate restaurant, then try Sweet Tomatoes on University Parkway right off I-75 in Sarasota FL. It is located right next to a CVS.

Whether you like to indulge that day or you are counting calories, there is such variety here. Sweet Tomatoes also makes take-out easy by providing different sized containers (lids are at the cash register when you pay) and you can pack a lot of both cold and hot entrees in what they offer.

You first make your own salad at their always tidy buffet bar and then you can stroll over for their soup bar with at least 4 selections (we wish they wouldn’t put onions in their soups though – Hint Hint!), a baked potato bar with both Idaho and Sweet Potatoes, a pasta bar plus lots of breads and muffins!

If you still have room after that, there are 3 varieties of Edy’s Frozen Yogurt complete with sprinkles plus fresh fruit and some sweet baked goodies.

All their servers are pleasant and ready to clear your growing pile of dishes whether they are assigned to your table or another. We also liked that there is a no-touch hand sanitizer when you enter the establishment. You can see the food being prepared when you walk into Sweet Tomatoes and also when you are at the section with the hot foods. Considering how many customers have spills serving themselves at buffets, these servers and the manager are always sweeping/wiping the areas so everything looks appetizing.

Please note that coupons regularly appear for Sweet Tomatoes in local Sunday Newspapers plus you can receive even better ones by email on their website. We have also enjoyed their Birthday Club where you buy one meal/get one free during your birthday week!

Whatever day it is, it is always a pleasure to go to this particular location!

“This place is great!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

I make it a point to stop at Sweet Tomatoes whenever I come to Sarasota. There just isn't anything like this in Philly where I am from. The salad bar is super clean and everything is fresh, plus there are extras, baked potatoes, pasta bar, fresh baked focaccia bread and a number of different soup options, plus dessert and ice cream. Most importantly, for a salad bar, this place has never made me ill and I can't say that about most of the salad places I've eaten. Their cleanliness makes them a must do every time I come to Sarasota - just ate there today and loved it.
