“Foodies Delight”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2014

Good information on the history of Sarasota; food was delicious, but would have liked more interaction with the chefs and the preparation of the food. We went to four restaurants and each one was superb, which we would go back for lunch or dinner. Gary was out tour guide and was very patient with our group as we talked a lot with each couple.

“Great way to get a taste of Sarasota's History and Culinary Diversity.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2013

Sarasota Culinary Tours Provided our group with a first class experience. Our guide Bryan was very knowledgable, personable and a gracious host. The food at all four stops on the tour was amazing. This was the best tour for the price I have ever experienced. Sarasota Culinary Tours provided us with more than enough food and variety in a private dinning setting with absolute attention from the restaurant staff at every location.

“Great intro to downtown sarasota food scene”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2013

Rule 1. Don't eat before you take this tour. Gary takes you to 4 eating venues in the downtown area. First is Nancy's Bar-B-Q. Great pulled pork sandwich, the owner spent lots of time with us(8 on the tour). On the walk between restaurants, Gary recounts historical happenings, bringing the area to life. Savory was the second stop, lots of gourmet tacos. 2 blocks further on, we visited Darwin's for a beer and a really fabulous taco. At the last stop , we had an assortment of pastries and the option to buy wine. The tour is a good way to get a feel for some of the history of the downtown area and eat some fine food. A great value.

“Needs some fine tuning”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

We visited four restaurants on our culinary tour of Sarasota. The first, Nancy's BBQ, was without manager greeting us. The second was about the same and the food was not very good (Clasico). We arrived 10 min before "happy hour" started and the waiter would not serve us a glass of wine. Our third stop was the best - Darwin's on Fourth. The manager greeted us, talked to us about the beer that is made on site, brought us samples of beer and an amazing pork taco that was really delicious. Our fourth stop was Pastry Art and they did have a plate of desserts ready for us upon our arrival, with a pitcher of water. We learned some history of the city from our guide, but I really thought we were to learn more from the restaurant owners/chefs. It is a culinary tour but maybe is more like a restaurant tour. The restaurants who do sign up for this really need to understand the expectations of the guests.

“Delicious introduction to downtown Sarasota”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2013

This was a great way to learn about historic downtown Sarasota as we visited 4 different restaurants. We had a complete meal in courses - an appetizer at Duval's, delicious salad and appetizers at The Savory Street, tacos and artisan beer at Darwin's on Fourth and dessert and coffee with Pastry Art. We especially enjoyed meeting the owners, chefs or managers at each restaurant. We'd recommend a tour group of at least 4 to share the experience but our guide Gary was a delightful host of just the two of us.
