“Chiopino-- fish soup the way it should be.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2014

Our visit was most enjoyable. The Chiopino was generous with a great variety of fish and seafood and fine broth. My partner had been before and was aware of changes over the past few years but found the food as acceptable as in the past. Dinner and wine for two at $60 is very good value.

“Not So Good”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2014

Based on prior Trip Advisor reviews, we gave it a try. Based on eight opportunities to get a dish or service right, the waitress got six of them wrong and a last item (ordering a cappuccino) their machine was out for repairs. As for the food, most of it very mediocre and some had so much added salt it was impossible to eat. Whatever people wrote before last weekend, may have been accurate at the time but I would not go back.

“Spanish name for an Italian restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2013

The food was outstanding and the staff was very attentive. The ciopinno fish soup was a very large order chuck full of a variety of sea food. Their signature rosemary bread was a perfect accompaniment.

“Use to be great but something has changed and I wouldn't reccomend it.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

Went this this restaurant a few times last year when we were in town visiting family and it was excellent. Someone suggested this restaurant because it was a sister of 15 South in St. Armand's Key which is a family favorite. The family decided to go back again this past weekend. Three of us ordered Veal Parmesan and the others ordered Lasagna & crab ravioli. The Veal was so bad that none of us ate it. It tasted freezer burnt and tiny. The other meals everyone else enjoyed. Once they got busy, they just about forgot we even existed. My father in-law told one of the severs he wasn't please with his meal and she rolled her eyes up and walked away without even saying anything. Our server I waved over and he was told how the veal was awful, he took 2 off the menu and a free round of drinks. This was good but we will not be back again.

“Mixed review”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

I dined with my friend. The waiter was initially very friendly. Food was good, not great. It was nicely presented. Service broke down completely after food was served. We never saw the waiter again. No bread for our table. No refills on iced tea. We had to flag down a bus boy to get the waiter back so that we could pay the bill. I am really surprised as Sarasota is very competitive for restaurants, and there are many good Italian restaurants in town. Based on service we won't return.
