“Gorgeous Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2014

I stayed in June at this Ritz for a convention. We were treated with friendliness from our first step out of the cab until we left 3 days later. Had a great corporate rate. The restaurant and bar were very good, try the cocktail called a Siren !!! This hotel has a main hotel with spa, pool, meeting rooms, etc. There are vans to take you to the beach and golf club, which also have great pools and restaurants. The beach club in right on the gulf ! The concierge made a great recommendation for dinner. I would be glad to stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the pool side of the bldg.

What a great experience! The beach is beautiful, the room was nice, convenient shuttle service to the beach club, nice pool, fast & friendly valet service, and typical Ritz quality with all the friendly, do anything for you, employees.
This was our first stay at Sarasota Ritz. We have a 22 month old & a 3 1/2 year old. We were pleased to see other families with kids around the same age & loved how friendly evrryone was to them. They have beach toys, boogie boards, buckets, pool noodles, floats all accessible for use right at beach/pool side.
We ordered drinks today while on the beach and although they were pricey, they sure didn't skimp on the liquor! Quick service too.
Now most Ritz's are generally the same. They have the same standards. This Ritz had the most friendly, talkative, outgoing, generous staff of them all. Five people really impressed us and 4 of them were in the lounge (which is a FANTASTIC experience... food/snacks throughout the day, cocktails, wifi, and the most comfortable deck to just sit over the water and relax). If you can do the club suite lounge, Matthew, Amanda, Scot, and Mirza all work there and all took the best care of us! They totally made this trip the best it could be. They were so over the top good to my kids, we loved sharing stories with them, we would just have the last sip down and new drinks were being placed on our table. We looked forward to seeing them every day.
Then there was this one housekeeping attendant who always made it a point to say good morning to my kids. Always smiling & happy. Asking them how their day was. Just so sweet. We come back to our room after being gone all day to find little gifts from someone named Brittany. It took us a few minutes to realize.... it was from our housekeeper!! AMAZINGLY THOUGHTFUL!
The care and level of hospitality from these people alone will make us want to return.
You will be happy staying here. Nice hotel, nice people, nice beach. No complaints here :-)

Expensive so glad I had a Corporate rate!! An amazing hotel located overlooking the harbour in Sarasota. Magnificent views. Superb dining and the room was top class. Highly recommended to both business and vacationers alike.

This resort was first class. Everything was efficiently run and the food was excellent. Every staff member we encoutnered starting with valet parking staff to the event staff was on their game. I would come again!

My parents and I decided to book this hotel because it was very well recomended by a local travel agency in Guatemala. We arrived on June 24th, 2014. The hotel is very well located and our room had a direct view to a boat marina. We drove to get to know the area and when we got back to the hotel, there was a terrible odor all around. The Valet in charge told us that the odor came during the afternoons. The room was very small, no HD TV, the pipes were noisy and the water from the sink and shower smelled like a wastepipe (no wonder why there were lots of complimentary bottles of water in the room), the parking was $24.00 daily, we couldn't open the balcony because there were a lot of mosquitoes due the boat marina swamp, and besides the price $489.00 per night, plus taxes, there was an extra charge of $100.00 for the use of the facilities. We decided to check for other hoteles nearby and to confirm our disappointment, the rate on the internet for the same night in the same hotel for the same room, was half of what we have booked. My father decided to leave today and we went yesterday at 4:00 pm to cancel the second night and complain for all the inconveniences. Minutes later a charge for $1290.88 was made to his credit card notified by the issuing bank as a text message and almost immediately after that, a message from the front desk was received notifying there was a problem with our credit card because the issuing bank was not honoring the payment and he was summoned to the front desk. We requested a complete cancellation on the credit card to which the Front Desk Supervisor, Erin Hulbart said she needed the credit card again. Since we consider these people are not to trust, we paid in cash and requested a letter from them to our bank with the annulment of the previous charge. The final charge was $514.00 for one night. We are now very comfortable at a Courtyard by Marriott for one fourth of the price, neat big room, nice balcony, free internet, free parking, very well located, complimentary shuttle to drive us 5 miles around and friendly staff. We are sorry for choosing The Ritz-Carlton in Sarasota. Very bad experience to share this time.

Room Tip: Do not recommend this hotel.

I had a wonderful time, starting with the champaign at check-in! The Spa was over the top wonderful with a fabulous massage and a relaxing time at the quiet and beautiful area.
Our FAB Doncaster conference was great with delicious food, wonderful rooms, and attentive staff. The attention to details meant we all enjoyed a beautiful experience.

Room Tip: The 8th floor takes care of the guests with extra TLC.

My first venture to this Ritz Carlton Resort and great expectations were in order. The service was truly beyond imagination. Everyone on staff knew how to pamper a guest. In fact, the service set me up for a let down. We had ask for an early check in due to an overnight flight and meetings in the early afternoon. They were so kind to give us a room and then we had a mini tour of the facilities on the way to our room. We were shown a view we would have from our room. We were given the wrong room number and the view we thought we had became one of the parking lot. The bellman knew I had a sound of disappointment in my voice yet I had to ask them to reconsider the room.
Per Ritz Service they did make every effort to get us into a room with the view we had been shown. My compliments to the service.
This is a nice property where the Ritz service is beyond the lack of luxury in the room. The actual room (even with the great view) is what I would call a typical very good Marriott room( I am a Platinum Premier Elite). We could not cool the room during the evening for comfort.
We wanted to watch the sunset from the beach club but shuttle service ended at 8:30 PM and the restaurant was not open.

My expectations for a Ritz Carlton were set much higher.
