Description: A warm welcome to Dolce Italia, celebrating our fourth anniversary. Four years ago we opened with the dream of creating a little gathering place to enjoy good food and good company. You have helped us realize our dream, and we wish to thank you by providing our very best hospitality, ambiance and flavor. We came here from Ischia, Italy to share our passion for creating wholesome Italian Cuisine from our own family traditions. In return, you made us feel like a part of a big happy family here, so we don't miss our Ischia so much. My father created the sculpture of the enchanted Castle Aragonese on our wall to remind us of the beautiful place we were born and raised. Over the last four years, our dreams have come true. We remember each of our customers with fondness, we enjoy every evening that you spend with us, and we feel very lucky to have such a wonderful family of patrons. “Delicious authentic Italian cuisine”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

Have eaten all over the NYC area, including La Parma, Matteo's, Carmine's, Parkside, DominIcks, etc. This food was on par with the big boys. Service was attentive, seafood linguine was perfectly cooked. The grouper in the linguine melted in your mouth. No rubberized overcooked seafood here. Portions were adequate, maybe not as large as a family style, however, for the six of us, three appetizers, 6 entrees, wine and peroni' s was 180+tx. Easily 250-300 at any of the above. We stuck to the specials menu, they were all fresh and nobody left hungry. Very few Florida meals have been as impressive, Dolce Italia hit the spot.

“A meal to remember...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013 via mobile

Based on positive reviews and a love for good Italian food, my family had dinner at Dolce Italia last week. Each of our meals was a "special," and the specials are offered frequently. They all featured home-made pasta-- mine was three-sided in a tomato, cheese, cream sauce that was magnificent. My granddaughter got linguini with (a ton of) seafood (clams, mussels, squid, shrimp, and grouper). A seafood lover, she has ordered this meal all over the U.S. and this is now one of her favorites. (Even reheated the next day, her left-overs were full of seafood and delicious.) Other party members noted wonderful, robust flavors in the flat pasta/white bean/sausage special. Plain ingredients but nothing plain about what the chef does with them.

Now for the desserts: My granddaughter's vanilla gelato with nutella and whipped cream was "fabulously nutella-esque" (in other words delicious). The limoncello-cake was balanced -- lemony but not too sweet. The tiramisu was scrumptious, but we all agreed that the special almond tiramisu was even better.

The staff were cordial, helpful, and friendly without being intrusive. The pricing was modest for the quality of food, cooking, and dining experience. If we were locals, this would be a family favorite. We will return in a few days for a farewell meal because our first experience was so noteworthy. This place would win awards in any community.

We have been her four times now and the food remains as truly authentic Italian food. The husband and wife who are the owners are great. Truly a must stop here for dinner in Sarasota.
