Excellent service seated immediately despite being 15 minutes late
Alex our waiter was personal, professional, and patient after we asked him to repeat the specials which he recommended highly over the regular menu items
He graciously opened & poured wine from our bottle and told us about the very fair $10 per bottle corkage fee.
Each couple split an appetizer specifically 2 suffed peepers @ $15.99 each and mozzarella & tomato at $8.99 if i remember correctly
The tomato and mozzarla were served cold and were ordinary at best. The peppers were stuffed with mostly bread and some meat and were not impressive at all considering that they were specials and were priced at almost $16 each.
Two orders of pasta with seafood promised clams calamari grouper mussels and another fish. The pasta was delicious served 'Al Dente' while the seafood had miniature clams several large shrimp, mussels, and callamari with no noticeable pieces of grouper nor other fish - prices at $22- this was good and could have been great if the other promised fish was visible. Mu wife had the fish special which she enjoyed
Though her side salad was ordinary with no dressing served.
The other diners had veal and bra collie which they said was just ok!
The recommended Vecciano wine at $50 was touted as being very popular and special yet was fair and a review in cellar tracker rated in an 82 citing another 98 rating as being ridiculous which we all agreed with. The high wine expectation set up by Alex unfortunately did not come close.
The tiramisu dessert was the best we have had in a long time!
Will probably give Dolce another try yet the reviews set very high expectations which unfortunately were not met. All six entres were on the special board and only the fish entrè was noted as special.
Maybe next time!
