“Nice displays but small”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2014

I just visited the aquarium today. It was very nice but the displays are small. In order to see the manatees, sea turtles and dolphin you must walk over to another building that is near the water. The previous reviewer must not have done that because there are definitely two large manatees swimming with sea turtles! In the main building you will find sharks, stingrays and a variety of fish. Parking is free but the entrance fee of $20 per adult is a bit steep. You'll save $2.00 off per person if you pick up one of the many coupon books that are available around Sarasota. There are picnic tables and shelters off the parking lot so bring a lunch or snack and enjoy the fresh air.

“A unique learning experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2014

The guides were very knowledgeable about marine life in the area and presented their information in a very enjoyable way. The small group made it easy to see and hear and experience.

“An eclectic marine experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2014

This is nothing like the Tampa Aquarium but definitely worth going to see. The shark and stingray tank you can look down into and fall into if you are so inclined (not). Educational and worth going to see.

“Pretty Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2014

OK I suppose, since research seems to be its primary focus. Most displays are small. No manatees, at least on our visit, and that was disappointing. You can zip thru, even with kids, in less than 2 hours. Neat little café too. Parking is easy.

“Great place to visit with or without kids!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2014

We arrived late afternoon. No parking charges - that's a plus! The main aquarium takes a little time to get around but worth taking your time. There's some great exhibits here and there are people around the aquarium just waiting for you to ask questions. Once you are done at the aquarium main building, you can walk across the small road and visit the manatees and larger fish and also say hello to their resident dolphin. Unfortunately, we had missed the presentations but would be well returning for a longer time and taking in all their presentations and all they have to offer.
