Owner description: Asolo Repertory Theatre, Florida's premier professional theatre, is one of the most important cultural forces in the Southeastern United States. A center for theatrical excellence, Asolo Rep stages up to 10 productions every season, spanning a diverse repertoire of newly commissioned plays, bold reinterpretations of contemporary and classical works, and provocative new musical theatre experiences. Asolo Rep is a major force in Sarasota's rich arts scene, whose quality and depth rivals some of the largest urban centers in the country. Asolo Rep is annually the creative home of more than 100 artists, technical craftsmen, and administrative staff. Its talented and accomplished resident acting company is complemented by top flight, award-winning directors, designers, and guest artists who come to Sarasota from around the country and around the world. In its role as the largest professional not-for-profit theatre in the U.S. south of Atlanta, Asolo Rep serves as a springboard for successful productions to travel to Broadway and other regional theatres throughout the country. 2015 Season: January 6-April 11 "The Matchmaker" By Thornton Wilder | Directed by Peter Amster January 14-March 1 "Good People" By David Lindsay-Abaire | Directed by Greg Leaming January 21-April 12 "Both Your Houses" By Maxwell Anderson | Directed by Frank Galati March 11-April 19 "Our Betters" by W. “Charming venue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

We saw 'Leo" on opening night. It was fabulous. The theater is so neat, small and historic. It is very small so every seat is good or at least decent. Loved this venue.

“Awesome time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

We took the tour with Phil, our tour guide. He was very informational. It was a great experience, there are some awesome cars in this museum. It's a shame that somebody's trying to close the museum down for storage.

“Great little theatre”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

I have been to Broadway, Chicago, London, Las Vegas and this is the best little theatre, intimate great actors, Saw my Fair Lady and best show I've seen. Also 1776 and first time I really got it. Intimate and warm and just the best.

“BEAUTIFUL THEATER”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

I love to visit this theater primarily because it is a REAL theater, and there are so few of them in Florida. The two performances we've been to here have been quite good, but certainly not over-the-top in excellence.

But it is so nice to see a live performance here. It is a true asset for Sarasota. I wish we had such a nice theater in Fort Myers...

“Great Theater and company”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

We saw 1776 there in November. The facility is beautiful and the acting group is excellent. There are a wide aray of productions offered during the year.
