“Great Attraction”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

A taste of times past. It is very interesting and informative. It takes the better part of a day to visit all the museums and attractions. The house tour is worth the wait and time to visit. We did not have the time to visit the Art Museum because we visited in the afternoon and were tired. If you have the time definitely visit this attraction in Sarasota.

“This is a must see when in Sarasota”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

The art museum is just one of the many sites to visit while here. The magnificiant 2 story Ringling home still has the furnishings that were there when the home was lived in. It sits is right on the Gulf of Mexico with a period concrete walk down boat dock.
The Musem itself is huge with a large enclosed garden with numerous statues and fountain. The artwork is a vast collection showing off a wide variety of famous artists. To see them all would take a whole day by itserlf.
Then there is the Ringling Circus building with actual wagons, train cars, a minature circus lay out that is at least a hundred feet long that can be viewed from both sides. For circus lovers this is a great place to see.
The gounds are laid out nicely with trees, a rose garden, statues, ponds and beautiful landscaping.
There is a nice restaurant for lunch that has reasonable prices and good food.
This is an all day experience that could easily be multiple days according to the time spent in each area.
There is a very reasonable admission fee.

“Pretty, well maintained property and good art collection.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

My favorite part of this very nice museum are the buildings and grounds. If the weather cooperates by all means bring a picnic there are many lovely tables and benches to dine alfresco in the beautiful surroundings. The permanent collection in the art museum leans heavily to religious with many very good pieces. There is a rotating exhibit hall which all three times I have visited was very interesting. Ironically, I found the circus museum a little tedious, but that is just my short fall. There is a day of free admission to the art museum and the view from the arcade at the rear of the mansion is beautiful. Try to plan your visit to include a performance at the on site theater, which is wonderfully ovulate and ornate, like a Faberge Egg.

“Don't miss this”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

We had a wonderful day touring the grounds, mansion and museums and would recommend this to anyone. Older children would find the Circus Museum enjoyable with the parade wagons, costumes and a nice interactive gallery. Be sure to spend time at the Circus Miniature gallery too.
Adults will find the Ca' d'Zan docent led tour worthwhile. Something for everyone and lovely grounds to enjoy.

“The circus was amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

The miniature version of the circus with details of cost and what it took to bring in the circus. Truly educational and amazing. The winter home of John and Mable Ringling was definitely something to see.
