“Awesome Minature Circus”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012 via mobile

My wife and I stumbled onto the miniature circus at the end of the day. It was fabulous! The exhibit really took you into the circus world of the 1920's and 1930's. It was quite remarkable. The logistics alone of the circus during that time period were staggering with 1300 people, as well as animals and acts. It was so much fun. Loved it!

I have been here several times when we have company. I never get tired of it.They have been changing some exhibits, and there are always new art exhibits as well.

“Interesting things to see, but not enough for kids to do”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012 via mobile

There are many areas to this museum complex. We took the kids to the Circus Museum (first floor only). The miniature circus was very cool. Even our kids (5 and 7) liked that. From there we went into the Circus Museum’s Tibbals Learning Center. The kids were able to play here, which they enjoyed, but there simply wasn't enough for them to do before they were quickly bored. The center had a cool hands-on circus cannon exhibit, but one of the curators was upset with our son for climbing up on the table so he could reach the top of the cannon. If the exhibit is supposed to be for kids, a step stool would have been a good idea. We had lunch at the Banyan Cafe, which was over-priced ($24 for our kids' lunches) and barely adequate. There are very few seats unless it is warm enough to eat outside, which it wasn't when we were there. We definitely cannot recommended the cafe. The Circus museum is fine as long as your children are older or if you go without them.

“A wonderful European art collection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

The Ringling Museum of Art featured mostly Medieval and Renaissance works. There were some very fine works by Girlandaio , and Rubens.

Great place to spend cold day. Well laid out and presented the museum on circus was our favorite. Ringing went broke buying this art so the least you is to go look.
