“Florida as it should be - beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2014

This is a beautiful state park with beautiful scenic areas around lakes, wetlands and wooded areas. Lots of oak trees and palms throughout the park.
A big gift shop and café are about 3 miles from the south entrance and offer breakfast and lunch for moderate prices. Eat inside, or at picnic tables on the 2nd floor porch or on the ground.
Nice place to bike ride. Would like to try out the kayaking in winter. Plenty of other activities offered, so check it out. It's a lovely way to escape the hectic city life. And in the summer, the campgrounds are almost empty!

“Great family outing. Wrong season.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2014

Loved the air boat ride and narrator. The scenery was very nice. Probably should have gone at a different time of year as the water level was low and the vegetation was rather wilted. Did not see more than two alligators on the day of visit. I would go again in the early spring.

“Well worth a visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

Visits today with two kids. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The chance to see the real Florida and experience plenty of wildlife is not to be missed. Enjoyed the airboat ride and especially Captain Bob's commentary.
Great value for money and beautiful scenery; the chance to see wildlife as nature intended is the icing on the cake. Particularly hot weather when we visited but still managed to see alligators, raccoon, deer, wild turkeys and plenty birds.
Will definitely visit again when in the area and will recommend to anyone who asks!
Thank you

“Alligators!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

This is a very beautiful state park. The wildlife is awesome. Take the airboat tour of the lake to the other side. Make sure you stop to walk the canopy trail. The canopy bridge is very cool. Climb the tower to the top to see the park from at different view. Where walking shoes!

“Nice Place to Spend Some Time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2014

We got there early to avoid the summer heat. We also knew that the earlier the better for seeing wildlife. We took the 11am boatride and saw several alligators and birds on the boat ride. I did think that the Captain of the boat was informative, but a little too corny with his humor for me. The price was reasonable at $12 per adult, the tour lasted one hour. After the boat ride, we drove and walked the trails, and saw wild turkey, raccoons, and several deer. It was a pleasant experience, and is recommended.
