“Emerald Coast: Called that because of the GREEN algae everywhere!?”

My family and I stayed on Santa Rosa Beach in July '08. We were all a bit disappointed with the beach. There was ALOT of algae in the water and TONS of jellyfish evrywhere! We all got stung SEVERAL times- it really just made us not want to go in the water at all. I'm not sure if we were just there on a weird week where the jellyfish & algae were extra thick, or if it's like that all the time, but we will not be returning to find out. We stayed in Santa Rosa because we thought it would be quiet & secluded, but really it wasn't that quiet, there were lots of people on the beach. (less than in Destin though.) We also picked Santa Rosa because we thought it would be convenient to be in between Destin & Panama City so we could drive to some tourist attractions, but the traffic is so thick that it took alot longer to get to both cities than expected. Not impressed with the Emerald Coast... GO FURTHER SOUTH!!!

It is such a beautiful and relaxing get a way...the beach is white sand and crystal clear blue water. There are so many delicious restaurants along hwy 30A. It is family oriented or it's fun for a night out on the town for adults. You can walk or bike to most places. There is a lot of culture and shopping. You just feel so good when you are here. I think it is still not known to most people around the world.

Santa Rosa Beach is a great pllace to vacation. We always choose the Beaches of South Walton over Destin because the beach isn't near as crowded. Speaking of beaches, these are some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. There are mnay excellent restaurants on or around Santa Rosa Beach. The restaurants range from casual to very upscale. I highly recommend Santa Rosa or any of the beaches along 30-A.

We have traditionally vacationed in the Ft Walton/Destin area of Florida. The beaches here are among the most beautiful you will find. However, this area has gotten very congested. Last year we moved down the coast a little and stayed in Santa Rosa Beach. It's much quieter. There is also a bike path for miles. We could walk or ride our bikes to restaraunts. We rented bikes and rode to Sea Side. It's about 7 miles from Santa Rosa Beach. We rented a house off of VRBO (vacation rentals by owner). We found the entire vacation to be fabulous and relaxing. We are going again this year!

“Parents 40th Anniversary”

We just returned from a wonderful beach vacation in honor of my parents 40th. My mom calls herself "Cinderella" because everything went so perfect.
We stayed at a great beach house that I found through Abbott Resort Rentals. The check in was easy & quick. The beach house was amazing. Great pool & only a short walk to the beach. We could see the gulf from our upstairs balconies & the sunsets were spectacular.
Our favorite restaurant was Criolla's! They gave us a private candle lit room. The service & food were outstanding.The limo ride to dinner was provided by Panama Limousine. The chauffeur did an exceptional job of catering to our every need.
I can't wait to go back next summer!
