One of my favorite places to be during the Christmas holidays. The resort is nestled in a stretch of beach called 30A. A true gem and a place I will someday call home. This is my 2nd time to stay at this resort. The staff is friendly and the services they provide are unmatched.

Absolutely loved Watercolors Resort. The beach was pristine (too cold to jump into the gulf in December -- but pool was heated) and the walking trails were numerous and enjoyable. Unfortunately, the specific house we rented had many problems from fireplace not working to inconsistently with the heat coming on in the upper level -- and should not have been in the rental pool (according to the heating contractor). The service worker who came out was "clueless" in how to fix the problem. Watercolors is close to Seaside and the shops and "food trucks." Bikes for exploring the area come with the rental house. I would love to go back again -- and hopefully not have the problems with the specific rental house.

I love this hotel. Rooms all have a view and are very well appointed. We left Atlanta when it was 33 and arrived in Santa Rosa beach where it was 43 - ugh. But the sound of waves, the white sound and the cozy rooms made it all worth while. Unfortunately the main restaurant was not open - but the sushi bar is great. Too cold to make any use of the resort amenities... no swimming, biking or kayaking. Good respite for a winter weekend.
One big gripe - charged a $30/day resort fee that seemed absurd for a winter weekend!

Room Tip: Bottom floor looks directly into the dunes - no water. Second and third rooms all have water views.

Came with the family after Christmas. Perfect timing. Nothing was crowded but everything was open. We had a lovely 4 bedroom house with everything we needed. Well appointed kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, spacious living areas. Weather was decent for golf and tennis. Beach Club pool was heated with plenty of chairs. Bonfire on the beach was a nice touch and fireworks for NYE fantastic. We found everyone to be friendly. Summer is crazy busy here - I definitely recommend a visit during the off season.

We have been renting houses at Watercolor for several years for the week between Christmas and New Year's. Generally, the houses have been lovely though, each time, the kitchen equipment has been underwhelming - both appliances and utensils. I love to cook - even while on vacation - and I have learned to bring my own Dutch oven, skillets, knives and kitchen towels. I even bring a box of wine glasses given what we have found in some of the houses. This year, we visited some friends who were renting in Rosemary Beach. Granted, their rental was more expensive but not by a significant amount. Their kitchen had double gas ovens, a Kitchen Aid stand mixer, and every kitchen device imaginable. I actually prefer Watercolor but, in my opinion, they need to up their game in the kitchen. We did have a maintenance issue come up and the crew was extremely responsive and competent - much appreciated. Bottom line - we will be back but sure wish I didn't have to transport my Atlanta kitchen in order to cook for a crowd on Boxing Day and New Year's Eve!

Room Tip: If you reserve a house, make sure there is no construction in the area. Two years ago, we were unfo...

My bride and I searched everywhere for the perfect place for our wedding. We especially considered New York City (our home) and Grand Cayman (where we have visited on several occasions). But without a doubt we made the right choice with WaterColor. Everything about our wedding was handled with the highest level of professionalism possible. We had guests from California, Washington, Michigan, Georgia, Louisiana, Alabama, Texas, and Florida. Our friends stayed in the Inn, the Town Center condos, and some of the gorgeous rental homes. We hosted a dinner in a home (catered by WaterColor), the ceremony (on the Inn Green), the reception (in the ballroom) and a Sunday brunch (in Fish Out of Water). Every detail was handled perfectly. Our guests left raving about their experiences. What a beautiful, happy place to start our married life together. Thank you WaterColor!

Room Tip: The view from the 4th floor balconies is worth the upcharge.

What a great resort. Our family rented one of the vacation homes at Watercolor and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The bikes that came with the house were a great way to get around the community. The Beach Club and beaches were fantastic. If you get an opportunity, check out their spa. One of the best massages I've had. The kids loved it and are already wanting to plan our next vacation. This place is very family oriented and lots of fun.

Room Tip: Park District is very convenient to everything
