“Sanibel's Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

We have gone to Sweet Melissa's the last three years when we have been to Sanibel. It is truly the culinary highlight of our yearly vacation and we will keep coming back! It is a 5 Star experience.

“Too Much Sauce”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013 via mobile

Why smother good ingredients with so many things, simplicity is the key to good food anyone purporting to offer gourmet cooking should know that. The desserts however were very good and followed that ethos.service was excellent shame about the food.

“Island's Best”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

Sweet Melissa's is one of the best on Sanibel. WE have been eating there ever she arrived on the Island. If we want to be assured of a well prepared meal with quality ingredients and a bit of imagination, Melissa's is the go to place. Melissa is one of the best, most consistent chefs around. I once asked why a certain dish was no longer on the menu; Her response, "just call me and I'll cook it for you." A couple of her long time serving staff are excellent but at times it appears that keeping good staff over time is a challenge.
If I had only one place to eat on Sanibel, Melissa's would be the place.

“Exceptional”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

We had spent a week in Orlando when we went to Sanibel and went to Sweet Melissa because of Trip Advisor reviews. It is worthy of all the comments on TA. Felt like we were in New York, or London, with the quality of the food and the wine list.
I had looked at the menu before we went and felt that my fussy eater teenagers would not want anything because the menu is so original and different but I was wrong. Also where the Americans differ so much from the UK is it really is what the customer wants and they were very adaptable with our requests.
Could not recommend it highly enough and you can book online, which makes it easy.

“Attention to detail”

Very nice place. Chef appears to have focused on having the food represent her approach which results in unique flavor combinations.
